All Purpose Lotto Thread: Powerball at $320 Million
Id give it about 3 hours before we know if there was a winner. Then soon after where it was, if there was a winner.
I heard that every combination should have been played. If there was an estimated $1.5B in tickets sold, then I'm sure someone (if not multiple people) must have won.
Apparently Cali does have different payouts, then NY atleast. Depending on how many other people had "winning" tickets, you won anywhere in the range of about 5-9 dollars.

There are 170M+ combinations. Over 200M tickets were bought (which doesn't seem right if $1.5B were sold, but w/e.) Logic says it should be hit, BUT, we don't know how many duplicates there were, either, which could leave the possibility that one combination wasn't picked and that one is the one that came up.
However, I feel the odds overwhelmingly favor the idea that it's going to be hit.
Cali and other states for that matter really have different payouts? I find that weird.
Most states that play mega have a straight payout. They changed the law out here in California many years ago due to corrupt people in the horse racing world. We are a pari-mutuel state while others are not. For instance last drawing everyone in other states got 250 thousand for 5 out of 5 numbers with no mega but out here 9 winners got 308 thousand.

1.5 Billion is a lot, but still no guarantee to every combination being played. The double number makes things interesting, as does 2 very low numbers, and 2 reasonably high numbers. Odds are if some one hit, it was with a quick pick. And majority of people did play QP. We will just wait and see....
I hope no one hit, I want this madness to continue and see it go over 1 Billion.

Someone posted earlier that there was a 96% chance that there would be a winner in this drawing.

Yeah, just looked up the last few payouts for your state, very interesting.
