Who do you think will make the team out of camp?

Obviously everyone has their hopes of who they want to make the team. But who do you think, realistically, will make the team?

I think for sure Gardiner based on how his rookie season has gone so far. He's made mistakes, but for
his rookie year he's pretty good.

I also think Korbinian Holzer might make it. If you watch marlies games, he's good in terms o height and weight, physical, really good shot blocking. Dallas eakins and brian burke have said he's near nhl
ready so he might get his shot.

Obviously i really want Nazem kadri and Joe colbourne to make it. Naz has a better chance than
his previous years, but i don't know. Dallas has said that he doesn't think they are ready just yet. And for the past two years we thought kadri would make it, but he didn't I don't think the odds are in his favour, but i could be wrong. Colbourne works really hard and you could see it on the ice, but he hasn't been putting up the numbers. Things might turn around come playoff time. I'd be ecstatic if one or both made the team.

I'll assume that burke will free up roster space in the summer. Who do you think will make it?

I think Kadri finally makes it, but Colborne doesn't make the cut. Seems like he's struggled with injury and has regressed since the beginning of the year and is looking like a bit of a miss at this point.

I hope it isn't. Never liked that guy.

As for the OP, depends on what the D situation looks like going into camp. Realistically, someone has to leave for Holzer to make the team.

Phaneuf, Schenn, Liles, Gunnarsson, Gardiner, Komisarek are all under contract for next season. Franson is not, but is an RFA. So there's 6-7 guys already - unless someone is moved - that Holzer will be competing with.

I hope Kadri makes the team. He brings passion and excitement every game he plays. Frattin should be up too. Not sure how I feel about Colborne after his severe drop in play mid-season.

Mike Zigomanis!!!! WOudl be great in our bottom six!! Really hopes this guy gets his shot!

Wilson alwasy screwed this guy over and although he performed very well in camp and the start of the season. Wilson refused to respect his skill set! Guess he didn't fit into the run and gun style!

Woudln't even mind Hamilton getting a good long look! Move one of the Marlies big two so one of the young guys can take over a leadership role! Hopefully, Colborne!

Gardiner for sure.

Holzer and Frattin have a good chance.

Kadri will either be in the NHL or traded next season. I can not see him playing another season in the AHL.

D'Amigo. Making it on heart alone. Be unreal on our 4th line with Brownie and Steckel. Would be a force on the forecheck.

Also Kadri, and possibly Hamilton

It depends on how many of the useless players we can get rid of.

If we still have guys like armstrong and lombardi on the roster, it eats up positions for some young guys.

Surprised to see no one mention Carter Ashton as he is already playing on the team at present above some of the AHLers.

I dont think he will make the team next year. At least not right out of camp. Reminds me of the Caputi situation. Caputi came in and we gave him a shot right away to end the season. He wasn't ready and he played with the Marlies the next season with some call-ups. I see the same happening for Ashton because I don't think he is ready yet. Depending on injuries next year, or how well he is doing he will see a few call-ups.

Kadri and Frattin hopefully. I don't think Holzer will unless a defenseman gets moved this offseason.

Who I think will make it:

Kadri
Frattin
Scrivens (if we don't trade for a new Goalie)
Holzer (#7)

I don't think he's going to make it. Doesn't seem ready offensively.

I can only see Holzer making it if we can find someone to take Komi off our hands but there is also a good chance that one of Komi or Connolly will be bought out under the new collective bargaining agreement.

With that said I am going to say that whoever we draft in the first round will make it right out of camp. Galchenyuk or if we win 1 or 2 more games then Forsberg.

I think it makes more sense to discuss this once we know who is still in the system come training camp.
