Family spends a ton of time in Long Beach Island every summer, and to me south of the Island is usually where I consider the beginning of Philly territory. The Island itself gets both MSG and CSN and the number of people there in the summer tends to be pretty evenly split between northern NJ/metro NY area folks and Philly creatures.
That said, I don't usually see a ton of hockey enthusiasm there, but that's more because I spend most of my time there during baseball season. The times I've spent down there during hockey season, though, I've never had any issues watching a Devils game at a bar or whatever.
So yeah, between that and Manahawkin I think that's where the sports market is more evenly split.
tell me when you are playing, ill show up, play and talk to u after , it will be fun, dont worry if your afraid to play an openly gay guy, i would consider you the bender

Nah, Brick. Manasquan, and Pt Pleasant definately lean North for the most part.
I have a good friend in Brick and he says it's mostly Devils fans, Rangers 2nd and Flyers a distant third, same in other sports and allegences.
Even further South in the Toms River/Seaside area is not Pro-Philly, at least 65-35 NJ/NY teams probably even more.

I'd agree that once you get to 63ish it's a little more evenly split. Once you hit Atlantic County, that's it. You're done. I would say the TR area is a little higher than 65-35 in favor of NJ area teams. But it also depends on the sport. The Phillies, even with their new found success, have very little impact on the market (outside of the Blueclaws). The only Phillies fans I ever knew growing up here were those with some affiliation with Philly or came from South Jersey. With football, however, it's a bit different. There are a significant amount of Eagles fans for some reason. I know some people who go NJ/NY with all their other teams and just like the Eagles. Nobody like the Sixers... I mean nobody, even in Phily even the Nets have little support because they completely abandoned marketing to Jersey when the Brooklyn move was finalized.
OT: They have New York Nets jerseys at the Rock. I almost **** a brick when I saw it. I was pissed

There are a decent amount of Devils fans who like the Eagles and even Phillies.
I see fans all the time at games with Devils jersey and an Eagles or Phillies hat or jacket.
Mostly I think because the Giants nor Jets will call themselves NJ and lots of people in NJ will not root for a NY team.

I know GoodSports because my relative plays lacrosse there but I've never played Roller Hockey in an official league.
Have you ever played at Blackberry Bay in Oceanport?
And BTW I've been called the Malkin of Roller Hockey.

That's pretty accurate. It's not that they won't go for a NY team (high amounts of Yankees and Mets fans), it's mainly that they play here and wont adopt it. It is frustrating. I'm still convinced that we'll have a Newark MLB team one day! Well... Likely not... but one can dream
And I think the only time I've even met Islanders fans are at Isles Devils games. And one time a family of them at the HOF inToronto. Occaisionally on the train if they're playing you'll see a few. There really are no native Islanders fans down here. I'm sure there's a few, but I've never seen anything. Jerseys, shirts, bumperstickers, hats, nothing.
Eh. I lived in the 856 for four years when I went to school. 609 is some pretty weird cats, but 856 is normal people with stupid accents. And they're really ignorant when it comes to sports.
