Malkin, Crosby, Datsyuk, Toews, Stamkos, Giroux, Henrik, Kopitar, Spezza and Tavares for me.

I think almost everyone will take:
Malkin, Crosby, Datsyuk, Toews, Stamkos, Giroux, Henrik

Plus 3 out of:
Kopitar, Spezza, Tavares, Backstrom

Your opinion is wrong. You left out Thornton.

Disagree, although it's certainly close, and basically personal opinion. I also did not have Backstrom in my top 10 (I'd probably put him around 11th).

I'd probably move Backstrom and Tavares above Toews and Spezza.

Thornton has more points then Kopitar and is more established in his career.

Give me Kopitar for the future, but for last season and the next few years, i will take Thornton, even though he is starting to slow down, he is still one of the better centreman. Didint Backstrom disappear in all those playoff years for Washington as well? He is one that received heavy criticism along with Semin.

I think Joe's stats suffered a little because he has gotten so much better defensively and playing an effective shut down role. The point is, he is adapting late in his career and that is what great players do. Thornton at his ripe old age is actually becoming more of a complete player.

Hfboards is a what have you done for me lately kind of place, and by lately i mean, anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months lol.

It's definitely close between Kopitar and Thornton right now, and Thornton's defense has improved a lot. I like Kopitar better defensively though, and offensively as well, Thornton still over-passes IMO, he's a bit ahead of Kopitar in points, but LA plays such a stagnant, defensive system, nobody puts up good numbers there. If this was a career thread, Thornton easily, but I think that Kopitar is a touch better right now.

Threads like this are the reason a "Is Spezza the most underrated player?" thread pops up every two weeks.

As is Thornton. He's only 2 points behind Sedin, but plays so much more of a complete game.
