It's really not that big of a deal, everyone needs to relax.

Yeah, seriously... Why does it matter who is going to be riding the bench over the last 6 games of the year? Of course if Poulin or Nilsson people would complain how theyre going to be sitting on the bench and not getting any playing time... Its pretty much a lose-lose

From Newsday:

Quote:
Rick DiPietro has been skating on his own for nearly a month now in his recovery from a sports hernia, but it's believed the Islanders are not interested in putting DiPietro into a game before the season ends.
Interesting. I mean, perhaps Rick is not in game shape (has he ever been?) and can't back up Montoya. Or it means the Islanders are done with Rick entirely, hence why it seems like he's not skating with the team and instead skating on his own, on his own time.

Unfortunately though, this kinda gives me the sense that the Islanders and Rick both expect that he will be ready to play come September. The Isles might want to give him all the time he needs to recuperate, instead of throwing him into the net if he's needed. And Rick is skating...which makes me think he fully intends and expects to play next year.

Dunno.

I wasn't available because I have a men's league tournament this weekend and Columbus already got the Michigan goalie, so this was the Isles only choice. Not a bad way to make $1,500.

I don't get it....

He's from Denver, not Beantown. What is up Garth's sleeve? (at least we know he won't be coaching the team next year)

i don't get why people even care who the backup goalie is for the final few games in a lost season.

Assuming both Poulin & Nilsson are healthy, then they're doing the right thing by them & for the Soundtigers by just leaving them alone & letting them get ready for the playoffs.

So Nabby's shut down for the season? Blessing in disguise, that guy's too good of a goaltender to drive the tank.

Awesome!

The crowd was cheering his name repeatedly at the conclusion of the video.

Not much of a fighter though... But that opponent really seemed to barrel into him without being pushed by the Dman.

exactly...people on here will find anything to bug out about. Id rather have a noname off the street back up the last handful of games than have Poulin come up from BPT, which is in a playoff race, and not play at all. These games are meaningless in the standings to us really. John Grahme isnt signed for more than 7 games, and really, if he plays, hed end up helping us get a better pick. Im sure not many of the goalies mentioned would sign a contract to run out this year when theres really nothing to gain from it. Theres plenty of things to be in uproar about, but im sorry, this isnt one of them.

I heard Danny Lorenz and Jason Muzzati are next in line.

And yes, it isn't a big deal, but, it is still kinda funny.

Whole lotta meh on this one. The season is over and Poulin should be in Bridgeport helping the Sound Tigers win the division. Just hope that Montoya doesn't get hurt and Grahame has to actually play.

If they actually care about Bridgeport making the playoffs then they should send Cizikas and Ullstrom down and just dress Nino and Gillies the rest of the season.

You can count on that. We have yet to hit our yearly 6 goalie rotation and only 6 games left in the season.

Well, at least with Montoya/Grahame in net, we are guaranted a higher draft pick, though Montoya played well against the pens in the last game.

Ullstrom was returned today. Nino is (finally) back in the line-up.
