All Thomas had to do was stop Semin(yeah I know....easier said than done but he's a damn good Goaltender so that's no excuse) and we're exhaling a sigh of relief.
Thanks to him FAILING....We're still on the outside looking in. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
That's my man! At least I'm in good company.
Then again a blessing in disguise? Who knows? You know who we got next right? This is gonna be a blockbuster. Tonight I said was the game we've all been waiting for now for 2 years.
Saturday is the game we've been waiting for since December 23rd 2010.
I dunno, I think I'd like it better if the Devils clinch just because they won, not because they won and then watched another team lose.
It feels better to seize the spot for ourselves rather than fall backward into it with help from out of town, but really it makes no difference. Clinching is clinching.
I am tired of the slugs fans who disappeared all season saying fail4nail only to return and say they are makin a playoff run. I live with one. Go ovechtrick. I think they can upset the rags anyway
Soooo, The Panthers need to pick up 5 more points then the Bruins over the last 5 games for each team and the Caps need to get 4 more then the Panthers over their last 4. While not set in stone just yet, NJ looks like they will be spending some time in Florida in a couple of weeks.
Don't know where to ask this, but anyone have any idea what day the playoffs might start for us whether it's April 11th or 12th? I don't even know how they decide that.
I would like to know the sooner the better. I'd really like to know what day they would start at the Rock as soon as I can. Obviously no home ice for us, and that's cool. I'm hoping to buy plane tickets sooner rather than later. I got 2 weeks off from work, but I won't be leaving for Jersey until right before the playoffs start there which will obviously be that weekend.
Praying for a series with Florida still so I can drive to see the games in South Florida!
Eh don't fret. Look, I've said it countless times, NJ just needs to worry about getting their own game in shape as opposed to who they face. It won't make a difference who they play if their game doesn't get where it needs to be.
With that said, Florida is by far the most appealing opponent. I rather not see the Devils have to take on the defending champs in the first round. Let some other team deal with all that jazz.
It won't be a sweep. There's no way Florida's goaltending holds up against 4 good lines over 4 games.
If they use Clemmensen they will.
Seriously though I watch a lot of Florida, and Crapper Clemmer plays a hell of a lot better when Marty is on the other side. It's like he's motivated to beat Marty or something.
You watch his other games he's good here, he's good there, he's okay here, he's HORRIBLE there.
Every team has its fairweather fans, including our own Devils during the miracle run last season. It's annoying to the die hards when this happens, but I understand the reasoning behind not wanting to support a bad team.
I suppose but it still irks me and I have no Caps fans in my ear babbling.
Also why I probably hate the pens to no end. The fans are brutal here and the commentary is a step worse.
He actually worries me a bit. He's one of the former Devils who seems to have a real chip on his ****ing shoulder. Theo is their man though so Clemmensen would only get a crack if Florida really stumbles.
Whatever, NJ is the better team and I don't think it's even close tbh. Just think about where Florida would be had they been in the Atlantic division this year. I really don't think you're talking about a playoff team right now if that were the case.

I've been to an ass load of arenas over the years and the Pens arena was, hands down, the worst experience I've ever had. Twelve year olds swearing at me in front of their parents on my way to the bathroom. Countless number of d-bags in crosby jerseys chirping. The worst was on the way out after the game (it was the game where malkin coned white and burned marty) some drunks were trying to push my g/f out of the way to try fight. Most embarrassing thing I've ever witnessed at another arena. Security had to pull them away. If you can't control your booze don't drink it.
But I suppose I shouldn't expect anything less when a large amount of the people occupying that building weren't there until a ping pong ball bounced their way. The reputation they've developed is well-deserved.

Don't worry because it goes beyond the arena to the whole city. Best part is most of them don't have a clue about history or the game. I have a hard time hating them too much because they watch Errey and Steiggy feed bs down their throats and accept it because they don't know better.
I've been told Marty is around 43, they have no future in Jersey, and the Penguins will win be a dynasty for the next few years because they can't be stopped ever again.

Imagine where Florida would be if not for the loser points? All their OT points plus their regulation losses, and you're talking about a team under 500. Whatever people will rag on us for shootout wins.
Clemmensen I don't know what the hell his deal is.
You know an old man I used to work with when I still lived in Jersey who hasn't followed hockey in years told me? He can't even watch the TV long enough to focus on a game, and told me Marty isn't that good, because Clemmensen won all the games for the Devils when Marty was out also. Clemmensen was fine for us that year for a guy with not a lot of NHL experience.
He did good, and I'm not taking anything away from him, but he clearly couldn't make the big saves Marty made, and had we actually had him now with the defensively challenged team we got now he wouldn't have won as many games now. We scored a lot of goals that season. We had a good team, and they held Clemmensen's hand.
Not saying he didn't steal a couple games, but he got a lot of help. He's a fine goaltender, but honestly I'm taking Hedberg over him anyday. Hedberg has impressed me more with his goaltending than Clemmensen. I hope Lou don't try to re sign him this year! Just like he did in 08 a year after we let him go. He's a UFA! Ugh.

Yea I hear ya. It seems like Boston has been screwing us the entire season That said, great win from the Devils and I'm confident they will make it again
