It might have mattered if Schneider wasn't in his beast mode tonight.

Man, did he look solid tonight.

How can you say that with any certainty? Pic 3 shows no one touching the puck, pic 4 shows both stick touching the puck.

Yeah, probably but it wouldn't have made a difference. The avs lost because Schneider played great and the avs couldn't finish for the 2nd straight game. Not because of one icing play.

Who cares how much O'Reilly argues the icing, once it's blown dead the faceoff is only moving to center if the linesman changes his mind. Plus there's only three seconds left. At this point blaming the referee isn't worth it.

Cuz if you look at the frame grab I posted they both appear to touch it at the same time from that view angle. O'Reilly's stick actually pushed the puck to the right and Higgens stick flies to the left on top of O'Reilly stick. From that view it's a tie at best, appears to me O'Reilly won the race.

Avs fanbase seems a bit hyper-critical of the refs. Every game it's something new. How about your team shows up in a very winnable game first before we start complaining about a bad icing call in the final minute?

We dominated the whole game and had 40+ shots. We didn't show up tho...

Those were the days...

Those were the days for sure...

Having Vezina deserving season with 40+ wins and constant super saves to bail the team out.

Oh, yeah, you sure dominated. What with all those goals scored. All I hear out the Avs camp is how 'lucky' other teams are with bounces and goaltenders, and how the refs are always out to screw you.

And for such an important game, Sacco didn't care much about the icing call.

Why would it matter with 3 seconds left against a hot goalie? You seem to assume a lot without watching...

But whatever the icing wouldn't have mattered anyway, we can forget about it.

Easy to say who got there first with screenshots and slowmo, too bad the refs don't have the luxury of that.

Nothing was getting by Schneider anyways.

hmm blown call i guess, and o'reilly not complaining doesn't mean he knew he lost it, it could just be that he knew that if the refs didn't call it at that point they weren't going to call it after so what's the point

This just breaking from the NHL Head Office:

They've rescinded the non-icing call plus all of the Avs losses to the Flames/Oilers/Wild. Great news if you're an Avs fan.
