that's extremely close and could go either way, the linesmen doesnt have a freezeframe infront of him like we do, can blame him if you want but he didnt fail to score on 40 shots

yup

This is a pointless thread. Games over people. Nothing we can do about it now. I'll agree it looked like O'reilly hit it first. But whats done is done. And like many have said, Schnieds was playing out of his mind tonight. 99.9% of the time if they had those three seconds left to do something, They wouldnt have done anything anyways.

Either we /Thread. Or the pointless arguments continue.

John Garrett is that you?

Maybe O'Reilly doesn't whine? Not everyone whines in this league not everybody plays for the Canucks.

We only have one angle in this thread and people are adamantly calling it a blown call.
From that angle it really is too close to call, and let's be serious here - if the Avs couldn't score in the first 59:56 min, why would they score in the last 3.7 seconds.
Might have been a bad call, might not have been, either way it would have taken a miracle for the Avs to score with 3.7 seconds remaining.

Hilarious considering the Avs and their coach were whining at the end of the game.

Anyway, looks like a bad call and I'd be a bit pissed if it happened to my team.

Then I would realize that there were only 3 seconds left and my team hadn't been able to score for the preceding 1,197 seconds and that would make me less mad.

I saw the coach complaining but he is a retard so I don't know if he matters.

Even on the pictures it's hard to tell. You actually have to do a frame by frame analysis. Give them a break..

I was more referencing the complaining about the other calls, but realistically the linesman made damn sure he would be as in as good of a position as possible to make the call because he knew what it meant. Can't really fault him in such a tight race.

I was at that game and as a Canuck fan, I was bemused that Lapierre didn't get a penalty on that hit. Don't have a clip but the only reason why I think the refs didn't call it, they may have thought Wilson turned into the hit. It also became quickly overshadowed by Porter's knee on knee hit on Booth which is another reason why I think it wasn't brought up much.

Regarding the icing, the only thing I think the linesman saw was Higgins shaft touching the puck before O'Reilly's blade touches the puck. O'Reilly didn't complain so I think he might have thought he lost the race as well.

Even if there was an icing, there's only 3.7 seconds left (unless you play in LA ) and the way Schneider was playing, I doubt it would have made much difference.

This is like getting mad in Basketball because for whatever reason a call didn't allow a player to make a last-ditch half/full court shot to tie the game. Such a low percentage chance that I don't think it's worth crying over.

I was at the game, unfortunately I was behind Schneids for the 1st and 3rd (I say unfortunate, yet they were perfect seats given the flow of the game). The call was really close, I was shocked it wasn't called but I don't think it would have mattered.

I'm really sad the Avs aren't going to make the playoffs, I was hoping for a first round bye

I don't know what it is about to Canucks, but they are Avalanche cryptonite. 15-0-2 in their last 17 games vs. them.

Maybe the Avalanche should try scoring a goal in the first 59:56. If they could not score a goal in 59 minutes and 56.6 seconds what makes anyone think it will happen with 3.4 seconds left at the most.

That call right or wrong had no effect on the out come of the game.
