I note the sarcasm but while he could still post a few points, he's good on face offs and is pretty responsible in the defensive zone. He'll improve our bottom six in the years to come.
I sat back and was waiting for this to happen. Letting him walk isn't the m.o. of the Rangers any longer. Seems like they are really going out of their way to keep the young players.
With that watch Sather ship out all the prospects for Nash. lol
When the Rangers acquired Lindberg last May,Anders Hedberg indicated Lindberg would spend at least 1 year, maybe two in Sweden before coming over to NA. The Blueshirts United link doesn't work anymore.
Same situation as Fast. Its a year of the ELC if he loaned to his club in Sweden next season and he counts against the 50 SPC limit.
The Rangers have 31 SPCs with Lindberg. Really its 30 with Miller's SPC sliding.
Good news. While I think Fast has a chance to be a solid top 6 guy, I think Lindberg has a chance to be a solid bottom 6 player. As we saw in this year's playoffs run, a defensively responsible center who is a beast in the FO circle is not to be sneezed at.

The Howlings Whale year end report card made it seem like they anticipated Miller would be on the team next year. Would the contract slide if he played in the A?
Tonight was another young Skellefteå AIK players sign their first NHL contracts. For now, namely Oscar Lindberg ready for another classic teams, the New York Rangers. The same club that Tim Erixon play in. This is confirmed by agent Michael Reander who together with colleague Rick Komarow made it clear a three-year contract. - It feels good to both Petter and now Oscar get this opportunity. There are good guys who have every chance to succeed, says Reander. Lindberg himself naturally satisfied.
- It's a dream come true, I'm just so damn happy right now, he says. Lindberg was drafted first by the Phoenix Coyotes, but later became trejdad to the Rangers last summer. But it'll be playing in Skellefteå AIK least another season when the idea is that Lindberg should be checked out. - It is the plan. I had a bad season, and wants to take some revenge this year, that's what I train for.
"Oscar is a very good skater who plays all three forward positions, making him a very versatile player for us," Rangers assistant general manager Jeff Gorton said on Friday. "He has played in the elite league in Sweden, as well as in the World Juniors, so he has plenty of high-level experience, which we like."

The contract slides if Miller doesn't 10 NHL games. Arty Anisimov and Evgeny Grachev had their SPCs slide when they played in the AHL at 19 and didn't play 10 NHL games that season.

With Lindberg signed are there any prospects from other organizations that went unsigned that would be a good pickup for the Rangers? I assume they would be ufa's with no compensation.

Great move. The team is already going to have solid rookies next year with Erixon and Kreider and they're preparing to have a solid infusion the year after with McIlrath, Lindberg and Fasth.
