Cant sleep...been spending last 30 mins comparing the earth cam with different angles of the virtual seating chart, trying to see where they are going to cut the 400s and such. Because the entire 400s needs to be ripped down. Based on what I can tell, on the 8th ave side of the arena, if you can see from the earth cam, on the left side of this years new 300s aka next years 200s, there is a rectangular beam on the end. That beam will also be next to what i think is either row 6 or 7 of the new 200s. That is where the 400s will be cut, starting the new section 420 next year. From the left on will be ripped down.

I wish the earth cam would show more or different angles everyday, its a real pain. You can kind of see that they are in the process of raising the roof on the exterior of the arena, because the new upper seating bowl will be much higher obviously. I think you can also tell how the are preparing to demo the 400s, the 300s are already all gone, nothing is there but steel beams, which will have to be ripped down before they start building the suites which wraparound (and act as the divider between the lower and upper bowl) Im assuming once the shell of the suites is set all the way around, then the new steel beams and concrete will be poured on top of that to set the new upper bowl in place. The last rows of the upper bowl 200s (btwn the goals) will be pretty close the new ceiling. Also by new ceiling I mean the light beige ceiling that is currently above the west balcony and is around the famous more center part of the msg ceiling.

Random thoughts from me studying the earth cam and virtual seating chart..figured id share with anyone as intrigued by this transformation process as I am. They provide us with nothing, so have to do some self investigating lol

Also, the 400's will definitely be closer to the ice. You can see in the 3D viewer that the new 200s will start directly over the suites. Using basic logic, that means they have to be closer to the ice.

So by this time next week on the earth cam we should see that the 10th floor suites are removed, and the demolition and removal of the 400s is taking place too.

I think those latest phots are of the 10th floor level where the suites used to be, they are being cut and removed. Im pretty sure the 400s and that 10th floor landing need to be removed.

He said in the earlier pictures from last night "removal of decking of the 10th floor" so i def think thats it.

The pictures from yesterday were all of removals of the 10th floor suites and the remaining 400 Level sections.

No problem man. The temperature inside - in a word...HOT.
The temperature in the arena bowl was a balmy 75-80 degrees yesterday. In some pockets, it is hotter. There area fans throughout the building, however, they only do so much. I want to bring a thermometer in and see what it's really at. The real issue is not the heat, it is the humidity. It could be a nice 70-72 inside, however, the humidity is like walking into a giant bowl of soup.

In the attic, the heat is almost suffocating. It is a confined space, and the clearance between the lower and upper roofs only goes from 4'0 to 6'0 in most spots. Only at the center of the roof does it increase well above standing room. Maneuvering through the area is a production even when it is not hot; adding the confined space and the lingering heat makes a trek from the outer ring-climbing over piping-ducking under ductwork-to the inner ring unbearable at times.

When you said removal of steel, what do you mean...the current steel holding up the celing is being switched out to create a different height angle? Or just everything attached to the 10th floor suits and the 400s are being pulled out?

Latest earth cam shots have basically all the 400's that are supposed to be removed gone except the 408ish area. Very weird to see the arena with no 400's and no luxury boxes currently.

1) NYRangers88 thanks for those screenshots. So nice that MSG will now have a more streamlined seating format like all arenas. Why would anybody mind?

Nice those teal seats are gone and blue is back...our blue not Knick blue...know your places NBA.

2) How is it possible MSG will have the exact same capacity. How is this physically possible and couldn't they have expanded?

3) Any plans to modernize the outside?

Technically there are more seats, but the seats in the ice-level suites aren't counted because those are suites.

Did the earth cam not work for anybody else today? (tuesday) The 400s and 300s were completely gone except for a few beams, as of the monday cam
