its obvious that the team wont get sold anytime soon to a local owner... now there are only 2 obstacles in quebecs way
1)does glendale want to give the nhl another 25 mill... some evidence suggests yes, some no
2)is the nhl willing to own the team for another year? no one really knows the answer to this.. I dont think they have ever been asked

Not for the price of a brand new Bentley when your actually receiving on delivery a major project, "fixer upper". Im sure weve all come across similar situations in life, a seller demanding double or triple what an items worth requiring major work & investments to make it drive, fly or float... the NHL has been asked that question, directly, pointedly, answers in the abstract.

Daly had an interview with Bob McCown in Toronto 2 weeks ago and he was asked whether or not it would be an option that the NHL owns the Yotes for one more season.
What he said was:
"Never say never, but...I think we're certainly proceeding on the assumption that we get this done... or we don't."
There's no owners anywhere willing to buy a NHL club and the NHL are not willing to lose anything 25-40 million for another year. I can't see Phoenix not going there.
Here's Daly's message to #Coyotes fans, via @Twitlonger: "My message to Coyotes fans would be to sincerely thank them for their ongoing support of this franchise. Please understand that we are working hard and doing everything within our power to produce a positive result for this franchise in this city, and we have never wavered from that objective since the day we bought the club out of bankruptcy. While at some point, we may have no other choice but to explore alternatives, we are sincerely hopeful that we never reach that point."

Add me to the list who think this is part of a goodbye... the Coyotes last home game will be Tuesday if they don't make the playoffs.
I am now of the opinion that it is no longer "if" they will announce the move of the Coyotes for next year, but "when" do they announce it if the Coyotes make the playoffs (at the end of the season vs whenever they are finished in the playoffs). And given that the timing for Seattle is premature, that makes QC for next year.

Saying absolutely nothing. In the lexicon of the English Language & the most annoying phrases of all time, both Daly & Bettman manage to hit every single note right on time & key. I pretty much just wanna slug people who use facile, trite little sayings such as;
"Never say never"
"At the end of the day"
"Its all good"
"In the interim"
"Irregardless of that" (which isnt even a word)
etc...
...if I want platitudes I'll call up my Vicar or a Rabbi, so just answer the question Punk.

With all due respect, I personally think that at the end of the day, and absolutely, that I am thinking about the Coyotes 24/7. But, irregardless of that, what can I say but "never say never". This is a fairly unique problem that at this moment in time seems to have no solution. It's not rocket science... it's a nightmare to me and Gary. But, in the interm... It's all good. ----- Daly

"Had to go there" huh?!... thats not one of those mysterious Sonic Booms that are taking place all over the World of late your about to hear, thats me screaming obscenities at the top of my lungs having just finished reading your post.
I have a gut feeling Quebec will lose out and have to look for another relocated team for 2015/2016 when their stadium is done.
So your gut is telling you that Seattle is going to get the team and host for 2 years the NHL in a building deemed unfit for an WHL team?. No if a Phoenix team moves it will be to Quebec, but if the situation goes so the league keeps the yotes under their management things could change.

That's the best evidence I've seen so far of the coyotes moving to Quebec. It's clear that the Quebec option in on the line and could be possible for next year, if the league is still saying that Seattle and the key arena is still an option and that other cities could have the management for it, is just a way of trying to cover up what is already in place in the case that something could happen in Phoenix that would change the situation and maybe bring a new owner to the team. They obviously know that the Key Arena isn't as good as the Colisee and there's no guarantee that such an arena would be filled.
At the end of the day, I personally don't think there is enough happening re: Phoenix to warrant the 24/7 party line we've had going here. And with all due respect to Phoenix fans, this absolutely shouldn't of been dragged out for all these years. It's not rocket science - at this moment in time there simply isn't enough money to keep the franchise alive. Which is too bad, given its fairly unique setting in the desert, which I personally think provides a neat contrast, like light tan leather seats in a Montreal Blue Bimmer.
.. I imagine so. Looking across the street on a Sunday afternoon while washing the car in the drive spotting your new neighbour Len Barrie doing the same, looking like one of the boys from Duck Dynasty, a Bouncer at a ZZ Top Concert.

That first sentence about thanking the fans says it all to me-they're trying to cushion the blow. Everything else is a lot of trying to keep optimism, but the light really seems to be fading.
We just have to see if the 25 mil gets paid or not at this point.

"It is what it is" is WAY older than Todd Bertuzzi.
My first thought was to tie it to Popeye from the 30s "I yam what I yam".
But a quick google search has the phrase going back a couple hundred years.

No doubt much older. Shoulda said "re-ignited" its use within hockey circles quite specifically... didnay realize it was potentially so incendiary a matter of import Joe.
