Despite the connection with Nonis, I really doubt that Luongo would be traded to the Leafs. There are numerous reasons why this would not happen. The most glaring is that Mike Gillis has stated publicly several times that he will not ask a player to waive a NTC.

As far as Schneider is concerned good luck trying to get him cheap. He has pedigree, has been an all star at every level, and is having a career year. Through 31 games he currently sits 2nd in save percentage and 5th in goals against amongst NHL goaltenders. Not bad for a 26 year old in his second full season. And if anyone was to do a little scouting they would notice how poorly the Canucks have been defensively. He and Luongo have absolutely carried the Canucks this season and Schneider has clearly been the better of the two.

To sum up Schneider is at the height of his trade value right now. There are a number of NHL teams that need a starter so don't expect Kulemin and second to get a deal done. The Canucks are not managed like the Calgary Flames.

2013 1st
Schenn
Armstrong

for

Luongo

If Vancouver wants they could then flip Schenn to Philly to reunite the Schenn brothers for a more needed asset.

yes he choked against boston because of the extreme pressure, which in Toronto is every friggin night.

I'm not saying that he will choke i'd love to get him, but it would be interesting to see how he would deal with all the pressure

Well, we'd be aquiring a true bonafide #1 goalie. Not many if any available anywhere else in the NHL. Would you be content with Harding???

i'd be more content with Reimer/Gustavsson again than moving the package you suggested for Luongo.

this team is clearly not good enough...we don't need to be giving up 2 1st round picks for a 30+ year old goalie.

Gotta give to get. Luongo is one of the best. It's too bad Vancouver is in this spot. They'll have to get rid of one of them after this season. Schneider won't settle to continue to be Luongo's back up and will want to be paid more like a #1.

Good news is that they'll get some decent assets back for Luongo, dump his contract and in turn, free up money to pay Schneider.

Theodore has better stats this year than Luongo.

Maybe it more about the team than the individual. Look at Schneider's stats.
