They weren't pushing this hard. They said Toronto needs a number 1 goalie. Duh!
They speculated on who might be available. Harding came up, as well as Bernier and Schneider. They also mentioned if Luongo falters during the playoffs he might become available.
Pretty attractive if you ask me -- let's get the goalie that has sucked the last 2 years and has a 10 year contract. How 'bout if Luongo sucks we see him for what he is -- a goalie that has never won anything -- and we let Vancouver keep his contract.
Luongo is playing way to good right now for him to be traded, cory schneider or not.
Why do some people here try to make out Luongo as some sort of terrible goalie, the leafs need somebody to get them to the playoffs, and Luongo has been an elite goalie in the regular season for awhile now.
Luongo on toronto would be the perfect fit.
The guy has went from overrated to underrated, he has been the canucks MVP this year.
Game 7 of the Cup Final...where Vancouver fails to score a goal.
You know who had a tough time winning in Vancouver before Game 7?
Tim Thomas.
Both teams won their home games before Vancouver lost the last one.
But if you look more closer, those games were only 1 goal games, in Boston the Nucks got smashed, in Vancouver how did they win? Game 1 was a 1-0 win with like 19 seconds left in the third, game 2 was a bad turnover and game 5 was a 3-2 win, this obviously shows you how bad Luongo is on road games.

It doesn't matter how you win though. A win is a win. Especially in the Cup Finals..
If fifty million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing. As quoted in Listening and Speaking : A Guide to Effective Oral Communication (1954) by Ralph G. Nichols and Thomas R. Lewis, p. 74
Would love Luongo, as long as its a "soft" deal, due to the contract. I would give up some value of course, but it wouldn't be what he is truly worth because of that monstrous contract.
But nice try.Vancouver has asked for Kadri,Schenn,Frattin and 2 first rounders if To. finishes low enough.Burke has asked if he can give more as he wants to make sure he completely destroys Toronto, much like Hitler did for Germany. The propaganda machine has already started trying to massage the gullibile Leaf fans brains.Unless Burke is fired soon,Bell and Rogers will hold the bag.
