It's quite obvious that the Leafs are mailing it in, as in, they don't give a ****. Which means they're tanking. If they're 'that bad' then why weren't they this bad at the beginning of the season?

They have absolutely nothing to play for, and even if they wanted to show up, a part of them just doesn't care anymore.

I'm not giving them excuses, giving up says a lot about this POS team.

Generally speaking I agree, but losing games like we are now without even being competitive is a really bad sign for a team in the cap era.

Thanks. It just shows how bleak things are here. When the Leafs were doing well earlier this season, I was getting ragged on (online and in real) by fans of other teams constantly. Now, there's zero mocking and tons of conciliatory messages. Its so bleak no one wants to even make fun of them.

In summary, go Jays.

At least they have taking Boston to OT in game 7. Wish we had something like that.

well after 4 years of burke, we're close to an NHL RECORD!! for most straight home losses.

Based on what you've written, should I assume you believe the Leafs are losing on purpose?

....as opposed to the garbage third liners we have now? He'd be a fantastic addition. If your standard of a 'tough' player is a guy that is going to fight Milan Lucic, there aren't very many tough players in the league.... and even fewer tough players suited to a role beyond the fourth line.

Gaustad is big, he can score, he's tough (maybe not by your definition, but he will drop the gloves from time to time and can dish out a good hit - see the Liles injury), he's very strong defensively and is one of the better face-off guys in the league. He's everything this team is lacking right now.

It's always darkest before Dawn. Hope the Leafs fix this team in a hurry. You Toronto fans deserve a winner and a team you can be proud of. We all want to see the Flyers. - Leafs rivalry return to its post lockout form.

As a Habs fan, it's not much to hold on to. This season was horrible. The only way it could get worse is if we draft a bust with our first round draft pick this year.

Well it's common sense man use your head?

Do you honestly think he could get 5 1rst round picks with 2nd and 3rd liners?

If Burke told you the sky was falling would you believe that too?

Probably, but in Vokoun's first game in the NHL, playing with the Habs, he allowed 4 goals on 14 shots in the first period before being lifted... and that was against the Flyers.

anyone find it funny that both Anaheim and Toronto have crumbled under Carlyle this season.

And the Leafs have a tendency to have rough years when the #1 pick has been traded.

7-13-4 in Anaheim
4-8-2 in Toronto

Carlyle's becoming a trend.

I'm holding my judgement on Carlyle till the end of next season.
It's clear as day that this team has given up on eachother and themselves this year.
