It`s almost as if Lou was reading message boards and making jokes become a reality.
>let`s sign Kovalchuk, the prototype of an anti-Devil
>let`s get Carter, the other Carter!
>let`s draft Matteau for ****s and giggles
>let`s sign Parse and give him #9
He is such a troll.
I still don`t (and never will) understand why he didn`t jump on the opportunity and sign Miroslav Satan in winter 2011. We SUCKED, he would have cost us nothing and let`s be honest here, it would have been the greatest marketing move of all time. Oh wait, we`re the Devils, our marketing sucks by default.
Parse was a great signing. The guy clearly has skill. Like most Kings, he never really got a whole lot of playing time and injuries have killed him. He's had some gnarly hip injuries. If he's healthy, he can be an NHL player (depending on the team. Not sure on your forward depth but we had no room for him). The key though will be seeing if A. he's fully healthy and ready to go after being out all year from a major hip surgery and B. if he can stay healthy. If both of those are good, then great signing. Wishing all the best for Parse. Seemed like a nice guy too.

We have two spots in our top nine that are open. One in the top six.
Seems like Lou is loading up on the low-risk, high-reward guys in Butler and Parse, in case Tedenby and Josefson don't improve.
Anyone else realize with a full season lockout, Albany could easily be a contender for the Calder Cup?
Butler and Henrique will probably hit 60 pts each.(Henrique actually may hit 70). Josefson and tedenby can be right behind with 50 each. I would put Parse somewhere in the middle. Then on D we have Larsson, Gelinas, Urbom, and Burlon. Thats a pretty damn good top 4. Then in goal, we have Frazee, Kinkaid, and Wedgewood. Hopefully Wedge gets the starting job, but either way all 3 are more than qualified to play in the AHL. Could be a good year for the baby devs

Probably the ECHL with Wohlberg and Hoeffel and Berube and maybe even one of the Zajacs.
Can players on AHL-only contracts move to the ECHL and back like NHL contracts can?
Actually, who is our ECHL affiliate?
Devils will either secure a deal with a team or loan players.
I don't know, I think Wohlberg, Sislo, and both Zajacs stick around.
There is no roster limit in the AHL, or at least their wasn't the last time I checked. Berube or Carrier will get sent to an ECHL team likely, maybe one sticks in place of one of the Zajacs.
Devils are going to have a tough time loaning players, or at least I would think they would, since there is going to be a lot of AHL caliber players in the ECHL, and ECHL caliber players in the FHL/CHL.
