Yikes. Hopefully the Devils were just playing it safe after jumping out to a big lead.

Lineup from today:

Dmen:
Burlon, Hrabarenka, Kelly, Leach, McPherson & Urbom

Forwards:
Anderson, Carrier, DeSimone, Hoeffel, McKelvie, Pesonen, Sestito, Sislo, Whitney, Wohlberg, Young, & Zajac

Goalies:
Kinkaid, Wedgewood

Urbom, maybe Burlon only notables on defense.
With most of the forwards that have even sniffed NHL ice still back in Newark.

Anyone know what the d pairings or line combos were?

Probably because they didn't have their top 2 dmen or top 6 forwards.

At least the goalies put up nice stats

Boy is it gonna be madness in albanys crease this year. I get a feeling Wedgewood will get sent back to Plymouth. He may very well be the best goaltender at camp, howeve I would rather im start 40 games in the OHL than 10 in the AHL. Let Frazee and Kinkaid split time in albany... or trade one of them.

Funny how Wedgewood's is the only one that has nothing to do with NJ.

Is that Darth Maul on Clermont's helmet?

Jeebus, Sislo totally looks like someone from the movie industry, I swear. Some mob guy. Help me out or I`ll lose sleep over it.

Kinkaid gave up 1 goal on a 5 on 3. Wedgewood gave up an even strength goal and a 5 on 4 power play goal.

I don't think Wedgewood is still eligible to play for Plymouth. I want him to play in the spot that's best for him. If he wins the AHL starting spot, great, but if not, I'd prefer he go to the ECHL so he can get a lot of playing time.

Not sure, but the first one to come to mind was Woody Harrelson. He's Not a mob guy though. Only in a still shot like if you pause it though.

There will be a more in depth explantion relatively soon (cheap plug for my up-coming article), but I think Sislo could be in a line for a big breakout offensively this year given the opportunity to play with more talented players like Henrique, Josefson and his former UNH linemates DeSimone and Butler.

While on paper it makes sense to return Wedgewood to junior, I don't think it's going to happen. Clermont could've gone back to junior last year as a 20-year-old, but the Devils opted to keep him in the ECHL for the majority of the season instead. I expect the same to happen with Wedgewood. Just a hunch on my part.

He never played with Butler - in fact he slotted into Butler's spot on DeSimone and Thompson's line when Butler graduated.

DeSimone centered both though.

I'm sure Wedgewood will get a Devils-themed helmet once he's officially playing for a Devils affiliate. That's just his old Plymouth Whalers mask...no need to spend money on a red/black/white Devils mask when he might end up with some random ECHL team.

And no, it's not Darth Maul (although it does look like it from that angle). It's just a generic Devil: http://5forwriting.wordpress.com/201...xime-clermont/

They played on the same team for three years. Had to play together at some point.

Not really, considering they're both right wings.

Trust me, I graduated with Butler.

What's up with that? They holding them out of games for a reason we should know about, or is it just because they know those guys are guaranteed AHL spots and they don't care much about preseason?

Probably the latter.

They probably have a complete roster as in 12 forwards and 6 defense when they keep them out of the game. No point in playing them when they know they will make the team and get top playing time.

Wedge isn't playing because he played yesterday.

Even on PP or something like that?

DeSimone was probably brought in mainly because of his familiarity with both Sislo and Butler.

This Albany team is lighting **** up.

This is without the "big four" if you wish to call them that.
