Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts after their respective junior or college seasons are complete.

Boucher didn't practice today, so he will get tomorrow's practice before Albany plays three-in-three with most likely optional morning skates before the Friday night and Saturday games and probably no skate before the Sunday afternoon game.

If it is a precursor to him going to the AHL last year than he has progressed way faster than I expected that's for sure.
I'll echo what others have said about being surprised at the ATO, but given how he needs to work on developing his all-around game, getting him some pro experience will be a good eye-opener for him. Will give him a look at what he needs to do to become a pro. Could be very beneficial for him.

Sarnia is done.

And this will just give him a few games of AHL experience. Palmieri did the same thing a few years back, then returned to juniors.

I understand when Lou's sentiment that it's more important to use your AHL team for developmental purposes than to win championships, but I think they could bring in some better veterans than Anderson, Wiseman, etc.

I'm dying to see what some of our young guys can do in the playoffs.

What veterans do you have in mind? I think those guys are quality guys to have on your AHL roster. Relatively young and can still contribute on the ice but are also good leaders. I don't mind.

I don't know. I want my career AHLers to at least put up big numbers at that level.

Our AHL affiliates have been stagnant on offense for years.

Injury update

Everyone should be available for the Devils except forward Chad Wiseman and defensemen Matt Corrente and Alexander Urbom. Wiseman, who hasnít played since Feb. 20 because of a lower-body injury, has been shut down for the season.

Corrente and Urbom, also nursing lower-body injuries, are listed as questionable. Those are two players who could continue to skate after the AHL season ends as extra players for the New Jersey Devils, who begin their playoff schedule Friday night at Florida.

I'm not surprised. He looked like he had concrete skates on.

I laughed when McPherson somehow kicked the puck into the goalies pads; he looks taller than 6'4 or maybe its just that he's so thin he looks bigger than he actually is. Hopefully he gets a contract. We need more NHL potential on the blue line.
