Galchenyuk, Galchenyuk, Galchenyuk, Neither.

I realize that people here are quite high on Galch, this thread is pretty good evedince of that, but he's rated outside the top 10 in most professional scouting lists is he not? Like ISS has him at 16 I think?

IDK it's a pipedream most likely but I can dream damnit. >_>
There was talks about him going #2 and maybe even #1 before he got injured. No doubt he would've been a shoo-in for at least 2nd overall if he was healthy this year. The guy is damn good

No but it does take top players to keep up. Galy is a very talented player, I for some reason feel grigs is going to be a hab cause of the patrick roy thing and I really really really want galy.

If we had the option between two, then we take Grigorenko, if we don't then Galchenyuk.

As long as we're in a position to draft either, I'll be ecstatic. Still 4 games left.
Nug sucks at faceoffs but I'd kill for him to be our center.
Go check out Crosby's stats at faceoffs in his first season (bad)

I'll be happy with either, but I pick Gally.

Please let 4 games go by without us moving down

Forsberg will be the best player of this draft come 5 years. Mark my words.

Extremely happy with either. Need a big #1 center either way. I still Gally but if Grigerenko is there, you have to take him.

Galchenyuk everyday. Grigorenko's QMJHL PTS/82 (118) fall in a +/- 10 points of the following:

Marek Zagrapan
Claude Giroux
Angelo Esposito
J.P. Dumont
Jakub Voracek
Ales Hemsky
Alexandre Picard
James Sheppard
Marc Pouliot
Simon Gagne

and falls on the lower end of productive NHL players. This just sets off a huge red flag for me, especially as a guy slated for the #2 position. By contrast, Jonathan Huberdeau and Sean Couturier were projected for 137 and 145 PTS in their draft years, respectively. Obviously Giroux would be nice, but I see him as the exception that proves the rule. (Analysis courtesy of: http://blogs.edmontonjournal.com/201...-marc-pouliot/)

Galchenyuk, He plays a Hossa type of game and we desperately need a Hossa type player.

Crosby's numbers were massive. Grigorenko's are not. Crosby is an outlier.

Galchenyuk for me.

Simply because this kid has an incredible attitude for the game. Mix that in with his amazing skills and you've got a solid, solid player to work with.

I'm kind of glad this season fell apart... If we had hung in it, and snuck into eighth place this team would have gotten manhandled in the first round. Now we'll at least get one of Grigorenko, Faksa, Galchenyuk, or Gaunce and have fantastic centre prospect depth (Kadri, Colborne and one of those playes).

One thing is for sure, the second the pick is made, that prospect will now become the worst pick made in the first round. Bar none.

Anyway, both have question marks, which makes it a very very very hard decision. One seems to have a penchant to getting injured while the other keeps having his motivations questioned.

Hard to say no to Galchenyuk though.

We won't need to, because Burke is going to sign Schults.
