Not overly. He was ok, but didn't stand out a ton. Definitely like a guy like Trouba much much more.
if my Oilers by hook or by crook should happen to pick out of the top 5, i'm hoping Trouba is on the radar. so far i haven't heard a bad word about him on any mock draft or from any poster who's seen him play.
Cody Ceci is so under rated it's disgusting. He's everything a team could want in a defenseman. He plays physical when he has to, he always makes the safe play, he pays attention to details in his own end first, he can run the point on the power play. Perhaps the most important aspect of Ceci's game is that he plays within his abilities and doesn't try to do anything outside the norm. People can call him "safe", but I prefer to call him "smart". And honestly, you can never have too many smart players in your lineup.
Im weird when evaluating Dmen.. idk. I'm technically wrong, but I usually end up being right in a few years, so maybe I'm just lucky... Idk. There's something I don't like about Trouba... Idk what it is exactly.
Another solid game for Ceci last night. Personally though I thought it was a poor defensive effort from him, did not tie guys up in front of the net as much, and was very cautious to the point of not engaging, but mostly I suspect with Zanetti out Ottawa is being forced to use some very weak D a lot and he does not want to over commit.
Offensively looked confidant, and as for speed, I'm not sure if Belleville even has a forward as fast as him, that short handed break he led he blew by the Bulls forwards like they were standing still.
He really needs to be more active defensively and work on his foot speed, but when I look at a game like last night, he looked head and shoulders above Gaunce as far as a potential NHL player.

I agree with your ranking completely. I can't believe more people don't see it this way.
I'm not as knowledgeable about prospects as some of the others around here but the things I've heard about Trouba honestly remind me of what was said about Luke Schenn when he was draft eligible.
I dunno if others will agree but it's just something I've noticed every time I heard someone talk about him
And this is from someone that has seen Reinhart a lot. Trouba is head and shoulders above the others. Ceci and Reinhart are pretty similar but at this stage I think Ceci has a little more hockey smarts, but that might be due to the fact he is a little older.
IMO, Murray, Trouba and Dumba are on the first level and Rielly, Ceci and Reinhart are on the 2nd level.
Ceci is the main guy on the PK, and Belleville went 1-29 on the PP for the series. It may be a team effort, but for what some people see as an atrocious defender, his team certainly seems solid defensively when he is on the ice.
