For me, it definitely would be Bruins. If they win it again, it just shows everything that is wrong with today's NHL. Now, that the Hawks are gone, I think the rest of the team are at least acceptable.
Hawks out last night, that's half the consolation prize... Bs tonight.
Then don't care who wins, frankly.
Would like to see Nashville bounced, to get a shot at Weber.
Caps would be ok, they've been a hard luck team.
Philly, no ...
Preds and coyotes. Like the preds but there is no way the Preds should have a banner and a Parade before the Canucks. Same with a team Aquilinni is sponsoring in Phoenix.
Hope the B's are bounced but they look extremely beatable.
In al honesty I don't care about hockey right now. Last two years has worn me right out.
Goodness. I don't like the Bruins either, but I'd prefer them to the Yotes or Blues. I don't want a smothering defensive club to win. Bruins play lockdown hockey, but they're more of a punch-em-up team than a clutch and grab team.
Philly would be a good cup winner. Or Washington. Some swashbuckling team that plays up-tempo. I want 29 GM's thinking they need to get more offensive and aggressive, not 29 GM's thinking they need to get their GA down under 2.0 by sending one guy in on the forecheck all night.
I would actually like to see the Kings come out of the west and Im pulling for oviously Ottawa in the East. Id least want to see Boston repeat and the thought of PHX, Florida, or Nashville actually winning a cup makes me sick. Especially PHX. That team has no business not being back in a Canadian city by now, and the further they go in these playoffs the longer the inevitable gets put off.
Do not want the Bruins to win. I can handle basically anyone else winning it, but not them.
Who would I like to see win? "Cup Virgins" would be nice. Even though I want Vancouver to be the team to bring the Cup back to Canada, I'd love to see Ottawa pull it off for Daniel Alfredsson. The guy's a class act.
In the west, I think Nashville's organization and fans are all first rate, and I'd be happy to see a lot of those guys hoist the Cup. Phoenix has a lot of Vancouver connections (Aucoin, Pyatt, Torres, Brule) and Los Angeles has Willie Mitchell who I cannot hate.
I'm having a really hard time giving a crap either way but I suppose Trotz could be deserving of a cup.
Plus if Nashville wins it all Weber may feel his work there is somewhat done. If they get ousted late in the playoffs he might think theres still some unfinished business and feel compelled to stick around.
But really... I'm having a hard time giving a crap either way.
Barry Trotz and David Poile have done amazing work in Nashville, year after year. I wouldn't be disappointed to see them emerge from the West.
Anyone but the Bruins.
If Weber was already locked up long term, and I suppose Suter likewise, I would pull for them. My petty self-interest prevents me from wanting them to go past the second round.
Honestly, I guess the only team I wouldn't mind seeing win it now are the Rangers. Yeah, I said it. I know how much it hurts for fans of teams like St Louis and LA to go as long as we have with no cup. But at the same time, them having longer droughts makes me feel slightly better. Oh, and there's no way I want to see another recent expansion team win a cup before we do. Ottawa fans seem nice enough now, but I vividly remember them during the playoffs last year. They were generally indiscernible from Oilers fans.
And the Bruins can go self pleasure themselves.
