Totally forgot we had a game today. WHOA, and tomorrow. WHOA, I'm making the GDT for that one, I'd better get to work later.

Purposefully tanking will never happen - these are pros. If it happens even if they play well and put in the effort, that's fine, but I can't wish for it. Building a winning culture has to start with them having pride in winning games that mean nothing, IMHO.

Go Go!

Looks like Coach Noel will be going with Stapleton-Antropov-Wellwood. Maxwell out.

Projected lines:

1st: Andrew Ladd-Bryan Little- Blake Wheeler

2nd: Evander Kane- Alexander Burmistrov- Antti Miettinen

3rd: Tanner Glass- Jim Slater- Spencer Machacek

4th: Tim Stapleton - Nik Antropov - Kyle Wellwood

Coach Noel game day presser: Rivalry developing with Carolina. What coach Noel is looking for in last 7 games. Worst team in league in last 10 games. Eric Fehr talk. Temptation to shut down Dustin Byfuglien. What does it say about Buff that he continues to play.

Who's on the "2nd" line? Machacek?

I know we're basically eliminated from the playoffs and we probably won't get in but it would be nice to get a few more W's on the season. Overall I'd say it was a pretty good inaugural season.

That "4th line" may actually see some considerable icetime, especially if the "2nd line" falters.

I'm guessing tonight is going to be one of those "lineup shuffling - if you're not playing you're sitting" kind of nights for Noel.

Doesn't look like it, but I'd love to see if his "digging" works alongside Kane and Burmi. Hope we get that line for at least a couple shifts tonight.

Well I guess it doesn't matter as I can't watch the game

I think one of the other posters is actually looking at some of the more advanced stats and mentioned that the preliminary look of it did show some improvement.

But yes from a points perspective, we need a win and an OTL for that stat to show an "improvement".

I am indeed and there is quite a lot of hope actually but will wait until the final numbers are in until I write up my full post. One thing I will say, at the most basic level GF/GA the Jets sit at 207 GF 16 short of their total from last year, while their GA is at 227 a huge 42 short of where they finished last year. Now the Jets could give up 6 per game and ruin my numbers but I see that as unlikely especially playing teams below them in the W/L column.

The GA difference is huge. There has to be more home wins this year as well. Just those two stats would have been considered a big improvement here.

but then there is that pesky road record which is a huge step backwards. on balance I would say given the transition of moving an entire team, the players and families to a new country this season would rank as respectable.

Some signs of life but the recent slide although later than normal has felt very Thrasher like. I am hoping for a win tonight!!

.02% would be one chance in 5,000. Probably a little better than the odds of winning the 50/50 draw at a Jets game and there seems to be plenty of takers willing to make that bet.

Fill us in over in the Draft thread. I don't think we've had much discussion on him.
