Bob sucks on breakaways; no surprises there.
Big point, though, in the chase for home ice. It gives leeway to win a game against the Pens in OT/shootout.

Why do the flyers suck so much at shootouts. Our goaltenders can't stop a beach ball, and our shooters never actually shoot the puck ( aside from read).
They need to stop trying to deke the goaltender, and just shoot the freaking puck

Bob looked liked 10 of 10 would have gone in. Could I hate shootout any more?

I had a feeling Bobs wouldn't stop a shot. He's almost as bad as Biron in the SO, stop skating into the back of the net FFS.

That puts us very close to starting the play offs at either MSG or Consol Energy Center. Looking forward to very entertaining time

Disagree. Ottawa deserved to lose. That was a tremendous game and you guys are missing huge pieces. So many giveaways in the first two periods and both teams played for the point. Beat the Pens tomorrow!

SOs are so stupid. My only solace is that when it really matters there are no SOs

This should be used as a case against shootouts. All that excitement and great hockey stopped dead.
Seriously, they should play this overtime and shootout in front of all the GMs just so they can watch how the shootout kills the excitement.

Screw the shootout. Strange game. Neither team seemed to care much about winning it in the third period, and then went balls to the wall in the ot to avoid the shootout. Even if there were a lot to be desired as far as team play is concerned, several players had strong individual games. Couturier looked strong, Coburn-Grossmann had another good game, Jagr and Hartnell had solid games despite not being able to make the score sheet.
We better play better tomorrow though, or the Pens will beat us easily. Can't give up as much space as we did the first two periods in this game. A bit more focus is needed, I think. We need to make it a bit harder for Fleury than we did for Anderson as well. We had a lot of chances and shots, but we gave him a clear view of most of them.

Shootout loss, i think its safe to say considering ottawa's shooters and our goaltending it was a forgone conclusion we would lose. Its just funny how we actually do suck in daygames and shootouts. The statistics back that up and thats pretty sad. The PP was horrendous as well.

Are the Pens playing today? if not they will be well rested for a tired flyers team.

They played last night. The CBA prevents three games in three nights.

Fair play to Anderson but the shoot-out hands yet another game to a team that had no right to win it. OT was thrilling but we must continue with this farcical ritual.

He's on a team that's guaranteed to be in the playoffs at this point. He's not worrying about much.
Compare that to Spezza who was all business and knew that his goal could be the difference maker in securing a playoff berth for the Sens.
Good game Flyers fans. No quit from your team. Best of luck in the playoffs. Hope you can take out the Pens.
