Congrats to Connor on being selected first overall. There was never any doubt. Good luck to the 301 players that will be selected tomorrow.

This was put up earlier today, but HockeyProspect founder and director of scouting Mark Edwards put up his 2012 OHL Priority Selection Mock Draft.

http://www.hockeyprospect.com/index....-ohl-mock.html

I will add a few thoughts here..

First off I want to add, this is NOT a ranking, it is a projection of where we think these players will get drafted. For example Jared McCann going #4 to Sault Ste. Marie. Jared is actually our #2 prospect after Connor McDavid. But we are aware that both Kingston and Peterborough will pass on him for two other, very talented players. Personally as much as I like McCann, Cornel isn't very far away and in terms of 1996 born forwards there could be a bit of a 1A, 1B situation there. Cornel's skating is better, but McCann brings a physical element that Cornel just doesn't.

-At #6 we have Middleton going to Guelph. IF for some reason between now and the draft Guelph decides they want a forward, I would predict Michael Dal Colle. I highly doubt Middleton will last past #8 Owen Sound let alone #7 Oshawa IF Guelph does go with MDC.

-#10 is Niki Petti. I think this pick makes sense for Belleville, If there is one guy they MAY consider other than Petti would be Hargrave. But with his skating on the big rink. I think it'll improve by playing there, but at the same time, I think he'll be slightly less effective than he would in a non olympic sized rink.

- At #13 two other names outside the player listed in the mock I've heard for Sarnia are Brook Hiddink and Dante Salituro. Personally I don't think Salituro would be a good fit with Sarnia, they already have a similar player (small/great shot) in Davis Brown, you can only have so many 5'8" skilled players before it affects the team and Sarnia already isn't known for their size. If they went with anyone else I'd say Hiddink, who would be a good fit along with the player listed in the mock.

- The Ottawa 67's pick at #18. Although a GTHL player is listed at that pick, how great of a story would it be to see them grab local talent Andrew Abou-Assaly or Brent Moran. I don't think either of them are a stretch at that pick.

Enjoy the mock, and the draft tomorrow!

I very rarely plug my Twitter on here, but I'll be tweeting through the 15 rounds on there @RyanHPScout same as my user name on here. Tomorrow will be a lot of fun, and I hope you guys enjoy it!

It was the entire CHL network that went down for a bit.

So is McKeown at 2 confirmed? They just said something to that effect on the Friday night game.

Pretty much. Barring any last minute surprises, Fronts AGM Keily has made it clear they're more than happy with him.

I'm alittle shocked in hearing Nikki Petti's name at 10 to the bulls! i didnt know he is top 10 material? Is he that good? Is he the high end offensive player the bulls are looking for?

What does everyone see the 67's doing with the 18th pick? I hear they are planing on going with the BPA, since they are going to lose players in every area next year. I think they need a forward most because they are losing Toffoli, Prince, and Monahan in the next 2 seasons. But they don't have a #1 goalie for next year, and may be thin on the back-end unless they get some to return as overagers? What does everyone think/expect from Ottawa?

Darren Keily(Fronts AGM) retweeted an Article on Roland McKeown willing to report to Kingston.

By the sounds of it you wont be dissapointed, will fit in with your rink quite well.

Sportsnet had S. Watson going 10th overall.

With Belleville's Olympic Ice size S.watson, Petti, Abou Assaly all make sense.
Spencer Watson had 91 goals this season. Yes 91.

Kingston may go off the board and select Herbst with their 9th pick. Strong considerations at 9 will be between Bennett, Herbst, & Fabbri(considering he falls out the top 8 due to McCann being selected @ 4).

Kingston did not score very many goals last year I think it would be a mistake if they take a defenseman and a goalie with their top 2 picks. They need some bigger sized forwards that can score.

I agree. Id be pretty surprised Kingston doesnt go Dman, forward, forward, goalie, for the first 4. At the same time, its almost impossible to say Herbst was picked too soon if he goes #9. Every OHL GM wants Herbst.

I can't see it. Maybe with one of their 2nd round picks but not at 9. They need a top end forward.
Good luck to all tmrw and to the 15-16 year old boys who don't get picked; your dream doesn't have to end there. Keep working hard! Congrats to Connor McDavid, you are a special player and well deserving of your selection.
To all the posters, thanks for your insight and views. We shall see in a few hours how the draft unfolds.
