Answered this one already months ago, but why not again

Jordan Masters is rated as a bottom of the draft guy. Martyn may be drafted in the second half as well.

Thanks for any insight you may have!
Hamilton Reps - Not really anyone who has stuck out in my viewings. Im sure they will have 2-3 players picked.

Cambridge Hawks - Mutton is probably their best prospect. Jonathan Reinhart and Hudson Michaelis are probably second half of the draft guys. Jack Van Boekel is a potential late rounder that some like.

Kitchener Rangers - Ryan Hergott, Spencer Grisold, Luke Gazzola and Connor Bodnar could all be second half of the draft guys.

Brantford 99ers - Some guys like Mathieu Henderson and Guy Polillo could be second half of the draft guys.

I agree Tiger. I posted earlier that McCann will go #4, and Middleton #6, with Fabbri falling possibly to #8 at OS. Oshawa may take Dal Colle, but they really need a Dman.

However, does Oshawa pick for need or BPA? Right now, the Fronts are just licking their lips, as a surprise star may fall in their lap with pick #9

What about Diamond for Cambridge? D'Ortenzio for Brantford? Caruso, Knill, Keillor for Hamilton?

I think your bang on. He is over-valued and goes top 15 though.

THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING, I CAN SEE 4-5 MARLIES IN THE TOP 10, AND DEFINITELY 6-7 IN THE FIRST ROUND.
I think it was more Mcdavid making Bennett look good. He always drew defenders to him and threaded it over to Bennett. Who are your top three? Are u talking hosang, mcdavid and bennett? I agree of those 3 he has the most grit. Imo, overall Lindo had the most grit of the forwards. Addison or Cramarossa were second. Bennett has average grit, imo. He used his size this year to sheild the puck, extremely well. He is more a skilled sniper but needs to increase his skating speed. Dont get me wrong though I think Sam Bennett is a fantastic prospect. Desousa had grit on the back end, but it was inconsistent. Mckeown had grit too and every other component. Greg Allen added grit.

Connor Graham probably could have had a bigger role on another team. He works his butt off and skates really well. Under-rated. Killed lots of penalties. Has skill. Also added grit to the Marlboro team.

Addison anD Cramarossa came on big time near the end. Lindo, to me went backwards, like Duchesne. Lindo should have been the #1 power forward in the draft, and I think he just looked disinterested and at many times, lost.

Desousa has all the tools, but doesnt have the Hockey IQ to succeed at the next level.

DONT BE SURPRISED IF ADDISON SNEAKS INTO THE TOP 12.

Hargrave might have that PF spot locked up. I understand what your saying. I can see how u see that. Lindo took a modest role. He is a modest kid who didnt say much all season long. He is very quiet. A real TEAM guy though. Hardest worker on the team. Coaches asked him to shoot more because he has a nice release and a really good shot. Very under rated shot. Lindo skates like an OHL player. He needs to be more confident shooting the puck. HE always used his physical play. Dante Salituro named Lindo as one of the hardest forwards to play against. Lindo is a defensive minded forward. Takes pride in his D. HE got 16 goals this year as well.

Lindo has all the tools- size, skating ability, but lacked the competitive hunger. If you could put Fabbri's drive/hunger into Lindo, then Lindo would be a top 5 player.

Interesting I thought Lindo competed like crazy. He had a poor OHL cup final game against the Rebels. IMO, he was consistent hard worker all season.

Interesting thought about Fabbri and Lindo, lol. I thought of one too. If u could put Alvaro's heart inside Brett Hargrave than u would have Lindros 2.0.

Mcdavid was so good if my Grandma was Sam Bennett, she would be drafted in the second round of the OHL draft. Is that a stretch? My grandma has one leg, just kidding she has two, but she cant skate.

Remember, it takes 2 to tangle. In some of the GTHL games, Bennett led the way in scoring, and was on more than 1 occasion, player of the game.
My point is they have had a virtual lifetime together, and have always played on the same line. Can't say it hasn't helped either of them, and more so Sam. Not sure about Gramma, but anyone with average skills and vision may "appear" star like playing along side McDavid since he put skates on. I wish one of my boys had had that opportunity!

From another post, McCann was DEFINATELY in the Soo last week and visited St Mary's College (H/S)

Someone on the NOOF, is reporting that the Petes will go semi-local(ottawa) with both of their top picks in Cornel and then McDade. Can anybody else confirm this?

[QUOTE=NorthernOntario;47201583] and Burgess was on the Major Midget team all year...

We all know why Burgess was on the team, but HOW???????????????????????

Kid is way in over his head. This is not good for hockey. He would have a hard time playing MM Double A. WOW..

He can snipe yes, Bennett has a nice release on his shot and is clutch in big games. He is not a super fast skater, nor is his vision fantasic. I think he is tad soft. Enjoy the discussion though. He is far from star to me.

Bennett is not soft at all. Absolutely one of the toughest boys on the team.

Amazing the divergent opinions on the same kids, all by those who have viewed these players so many times.

Is it any wonder an OHL draft is so truly hit and miss?

Can't see you taking him at 25, as the petes will probably take a forward with their 2nd as well. He won't be there in the 4th.

Addison is a shoot first player who doesn't look to pass. He benefitted more by playing with McD than Bennett. DeSousa is better than he showed this year. Very hard for a kid to play under constant fear, I believe that clouded much of his judgement.

We all know CMcD is the best player in the draft but you don't need to constantly tell us how good he is and how he has made all these players that much better. Scoring is important but do you think that is all scouts look at? Sam Bennett may have been in CMcD's shadow way too long and may turn out to be even better then you think. He can skate, shoot, play-make, has vision, has hockey IQ, goes into traffic with pucks, works in the corners....your grandma must have a solid set of balls!

Right on. Bennett is a great player in his own right.

There was a team from the Sudbury area this year . The Copper Cliff Redmen Minor Midgets. They played in most of the high profile tournaments this year ie) Marlies,Waterloo,Peterborough,Titans etc.
They have some players that are on the radar such as Mallette -W , Bell -D and Muzyka-G all of which played quite well this season against the top tier teams in the GTA and Ottawa.

Their game vs Marlies was quite the affair the third period is up on YouTube. The GNML would not allow this team to compete in their loop....if they had I am sure they would have placed easily amongst the top 3 teams without question based on their tournament play down south this season.

Does this blog influence the draft?

I see a lot of promoting discrediting of kids achievement that are sometimes out right lies or misuse of words to make a wrong perception of a child.

I also lately see an attempt to apply what a team is looking for to discredit or highlight a kid.

I guess we will not know until April 7th or better yet April 8th.

Somewhat disappointing and might even be scary.

Do enjoy reading though.
