There were some good looks at the end, but passes to the skates instead of sticks effectively negated them.

Boring hockey, but I think the intensity level grew towards the end of the period. The 1st line is just horrid, Pavel looks uninterested and Bert & Fraud just float around the rink. Gus looks good so please make Gus<->Franzen happen!

The team still tends to pass rather than shoot. It was a nice try by Kronner, but if you're not sure you can make the pass, just shoot. We need more straightforward plays!

Gotta love this system of awarding players on performance and not for the number or name on their sweater.

Why can't Franzen or Bertuzzi be demoted to the third line, Cleary to the fourth and then keep Nyquist where he belongs? Because it makes too much sense?

They had 2-3 good shifts and that was all.
I do not know what is the reason this game is so boring. Is it Trotz?

Emmerton is playing much better as of late. Would like to see what Nyquist-Emmerton-Mursak could do out there.

They were by far the best line out there, but I don't like the nonchalant attitude in front of Rinne. Shoot the puck or if you are going to pass it, make sure it's a good setup...Kronwall.

If Kronwall shoots there, 90% chance it gets blocked. If he gets the puck to Z's forehand 99% chance it's a goal. It was the right play imo.

It'll pay off if they keep control and stay creative.

Yeah at most 1 of Bert and Franzen should be on Datsyuk line.

Go back go
Bert - Datsyuk - Nyquist
Flip - Z - Hudler
Cleary - Abs - Franzen
Homer - Emmerton - Miller

Bertuzzi is not a bad player. As for Franzen, it's vital that he be gotten going for the playoffs. Playing him with Abdelkader and Miller will not accomplish that.

Bert nor Franzen are bad players themselves. But since they both are more of a floater than hard workers going for the puck, when they are both on same line it is very ineffective.
Some times it looks like it's working but that's because Datsyuk is in God mode.

What if he doesn't get it going? Should we wait until we're one loss away from getting swept in 1st round? It's true that he has potential to be so much better, but if it doesn't realize, they shouldn't wait too long.

He also has to get game fit. Playing top line minutes+PP right after an injury isn't the best way to ease back in.

Bertuzzi is not a bad player, but he isn't phenomenal. Nyquist has worked harder and performs better than Bert since he's has been with the Wings.

I can't wait until Nyquist is over 30 so he can be thrown under the bus.

Guys, it's okay. He'll get his day. He's only got a handful of NHL games under his belt. He's had a nice little run, but the accomplishments of Bert and Franzen are pretty significant right now going up against a good team and gearing up for the playoffs.
