Our PP is an atrocity. A team that has this offensive depth can score left and right 5v5 but when they go up a man they just fall apart and can't even SHOOT?!!?! That bewilders me beyond belief.
1. AVOIDING NASHVILLE ....it appears we can beat STL and DET and take VAN to 7 where anything can happen ---so we want to AVOID NASHVILLE ...
BESt scenario is a NASH-DET series and hopefully it goe 7 with several long OT games,and lots of injuries for both teams ...However if Hawks win out--that is 8 more points (103) ---of course for that we MUST BEAT NASH and DET and win both vs. MINN...DET and NASH each have 4 GR too...but if we beat both of then them maz thex can get is 6 points in other games ..IF NSH gets 6 pts they have 104 and if dET gets 6 pts they get 103 -so 4th and 5th seeds.(DET has ROW advantage over us in a tie;so does NASH if they too only got 103 pts)...but both DAL and COLORADO
could be in desperate mode fighting for playoff position and so beat NASH -esecially if all is known for the final game (NASH at COL) --so maybe NASH only gets 2 more points (beats MINN) or 4 more(Beats 1 of DAL or COL)--this assumes we do manage to beat them outright tonight...THEN NASH finishes with 100-102 pts --OUR 103 beats them...ALSO if we beat DET in the final game(having won the 3 priors) and DET gets only 4-5 points from their other remaining games before playing us-then they finih at 101-102 pts...THUS IF we run the table and win outright vs. NASH and DET in this process..our 103 points COULD get us 4th seed and home ice for the first series..
BEST SCENARIO:
HAWKS 103 pts
DET 101-102 pts
NASH 100-102 pts.
HOWEVER for this to happen we MUST start tonight and win outright ...then win all our other games and hopefully outright in that final game in DET...THEN hope that DAL or COL can beat NASHVILLE outright ...HOWEVER NASH has a 2 game ROW advantage over DET --so if they tie at 102 pts (NASH adds 2 ROW and DET adds 2 ROW even though they get a 5th point from an OTL or SO loss -THEN NASH has the tie-breaker-- NOT WHAT WE WANT!
SO the best scenario o needs to be NASH 100-101 pts (1 more win vs. MINN, and only 1 point from OTL or SOL to COL or DAL )...NASH can add only 2-3 more points ;
WE add 8 more points (103) ;DET can add 4-5 more points from games with ...IF FLA,STL ,NJ can give DET only 2 wins and 1 OTLor SO loss --thats a max 5 pts ..
IF they get 5 and NASH gets only 2or 3 points tHEN DET 102 NAH 100-101 and CHI 103 (we must win 4 in a row incl. outright vs, NASH ,and outright vs, DET --unless DET loses 2of the 3 priors outright) --IF DET gets only 4 pts (101)--we had better hope NASH loses outright to DAL and COLORADO..
IT will take a lot of LUCK to AVOID NASHVILLE ...but to even hope this we must beat them outright tonight.. IF we do THEN the perfect storm MAY BE POSSIBLE:
HAWKS finish at 103
DET at 101-102
NASH at 100-101 (but then DET MUST get to 102).
WE NEED HELP from DAL and COLORADO to beat NASH outright or at least hold them to 1 point from the 2 games combined..(I concede NASH beats MINN).
WE NEED help from FLA,STL,NJ to hold Det to 4-5 out of the 6points up for grabs in those 3 games.
HAWKS must help their own fate--WIN all 4 games outright to be certain of 103 points..
