Yeah, Thorburn flew with the team, right? If he doesn't start tomorrow, he'll definitely be in for the one after tomorrow.

Pittsburgh just beat Buffalo 5-3. Or at least they just scored an EN goal with 8 seconds left.

A couple observations (might've been mentioned in GDT, apologies) -

If you insist on using Stapleton on the point on the PP, what is the one player you should NOT be pairing him with? Exactly, a hobbled Buff. Huge defensive liability. Stapler fumbling with the puck at the line, Little covering for Buff who's in front, shorthanded goal. Two games in a row is enough.

PP has gone ice cold, zero confidence with the puck and need to be a lot more decisive entering the zone. I've never been able to decide whether I like dump and chase or carry it in, but I'm not a fan of slowly and hesitatingly carrying it in, causing your teammates to stop at the line and kill momentum.

Bogo was the man (+3, 23 minutes, and a 'fight'). Like everyone else, I'd like to see Macho get 10-11 minutes rather than the 7 he got tonight.

We are 6-3 on Fridays.

um it was wheeler that flubbed the puck at the line and caused the shorthanded goal. Are some of you even watching the game?

Yes, but that turnover was at least partially caused by Stapleton's indecision at the point.

I'm too lazy to do that math, but does anyone know if we are officially mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet?

well, I didn't expect this result at the end of the first period! Nice character win for the guys. I get the impression there was quite the team meeting between the first and second period.

C'mon boys lets take the remaining 4 too!

Not yet.

If Washington gets a regulation win in their last 4 games, or if Buffalo gets 3 points in their last 4 we are.

That would also be assuming we win our last 4 straight.

Nope. Jets need to run the table, and hope Washington doesn't win another game, plus have Buffalo win no more than once.

According to Sports Club Stats we still have a .058% chance

It's simple with so few games remaining.

Jets have to win the rest of their games.

Buffalo needs to go win-less, or lose them all and one in OT.

Washington needs to lose all.

I love winning

Nice to see us battle back and come from behind on the road in the 3rd period. So many posts and yet we hung in and as I predicted () Ladd would come up big.

Now let's go out and win a back to back tomorrow night and #%}** the marginal upgrade on the draft.

Big character win.......well done boys

Apologies, yes it was Wheels. But the point still stands. Wheels was dipsy doodling at the point, Stapler was standing by the boards watching, while Buff was in front of the net (and actually got tripped by Ward when Staal was about 15 feet out on Ma$e, hehe).

Offensively hungry Buff and the tiniest forward on the team (without a big shot or magically skilled hands) might not be the most efficient pairing on the PP. Especially as other teams have figured out you are best to keep hard pressure on our PP and make us react quickly.

Pfft.

They showed great heart and tenacity - glad to see they haven't given up. Glass - what a trooper. Period and a half on a broken foot? Pfft.

Hoping for some more strong games like this to close out the season, and to get them motivated for next year.

Wasn't around for the GDT so this was probably mentioned earlier, but congrats to Wellwood for a new career high in points.

One of the best value signings of this season!

Could've titled this thread "Tanking is for Leafs". Good gutsy character win for the boys. Let the draft pick take care of itself.

Great effort by the Jets to get the comeback win from behind.

I would like to see management move Byfuglien in the off season to shake things up.

-Wheeler had way too many turnovers tonight for someone that is supposed to be one of your better forwards. Stop doing it please.
-Buff should ask Hainsey how to properly box out, or maybe even his own partner who did a better job on the third goal then fatass standing behind three Canes' players.
-Hainsey was a beast outside of the penalty.
-Skinner's a ***** to play against.
-Stapleton can't be at the point when Buff's in front of the net. We'd be better off having three D-men. Not like Wheeler could hold onto the puck tonight.
-Not sure why our forwards were so passive tonight to pressure the point. Seemed much worse when Glass was on the ice. Not sure if that's coincidence or not.
-Speaking of Glass, him or Mach missed the guy in front of the net. Slater was already high and one of them should have had that guy on the 1st goal.
-POST!!!
