Miller let in one bad one, so did Johnson. It evens out. Crosby ripped us a new one tonight.
Two bad ones. I'm not trying to rip on Miller but this loss is on him and the forwards. Other than the PP goals, I thought our defense did a solid job. If Miller doesn't go for the poke check and stays in his net, he's fine. I liked the team's game today, but obviously the Penguins are in our heads. Especially Miller's.
UGLY: Washington plays Montreal, Tampa, Florida, and the Rangers for their last four. In other words, an easier schedule than ours (Though the 2 games against Toronto help).

Florida will have something to play for, Washington is catching up in terms of points and if they have the tie breaker, that's the difference between the 8th seed and 3rd seed. Florida will come out guns swinging. Tampa is playing okay lately, and the Rangers are the Rangers. If we don't win both against Toronto, we don't deserve to make the playoffs. Simple as that.
Playing against a great team with the refs favoring them, bad ice and ****** bounces (except for the Obvious bounce on the Vanek goal).
Playing on home ice with 3 nights' rest against a slumping team (3 straight losses) playing the 2nd night of back-to-backs and starting their back-up goalie.
Because Asham's skate supposedly needed repairs. It was yet more BS in a game defined by it.
Along with Johnsons 15 minute suspender adjustment. Let them exchange for their best player for Ashams skate, then basically give them a free time out.
Look, the opportunities were there. We simply didn't execute. We didn't pressure Johnson enough and when we had open nets, we whiffed, missed, etc.. We played poorly in the 2nd period (that's where we lost the game). Yeah, Miller gave up a softie but also makes the save of the game in the 3rd keeping us in the game. I 'm not blaming him.
Refs suck but get used to it. But every player on the team will tell you that you have to play thru the refs and win the battles anyways.
Ruff is a pretty darn good coach... he got kudo's for preping the team so well against the Caps. Of course he was up against Hunter. Blysma eats Ruff's lunch every time they meet is as far as bench mgmt goes. Made a difference tonight and really limited Ruff's use of the 4th line. (Pens would double shift Crosby or Malkin and unbalance the whole shift.) You can do that when you are stacked that deep with elite talent.
I would agree with who ever made the comment about the ice. Both teams losing edges right and left. Pucks bouncing all over the place. Ice needs to be up to NHL caliber.
It's time for the leadership on this team to step up.
This was definitely a let down game after the big Washington game from earlier this week. I saw a lot of bad habits creep back into their game tonight. Low energy level and a lack of compete early on leading to players trying to do it all by themselves later on in the game.
We need the leaders on this team to step up and get the team to bear down and play defense. I'm nervous as to whether or not that will actually happen.
Can't blame the refs, in fact its my fault they lost. I failed to watch the "just win baby" youtube.. and yes tomorrow I will watch it at some point before 7pm eastern standard time..

When will people realize that they lost to a teams who s 3rd line center is Jordan Staal, the best team in the league arguably, who needed to win, and are flat out better than us
