huge no to Morrow. He's our next left-handed Letang. They'll utilize him like Letang. No need to rush him.

Despres however, I'll be SHOCKED if he's not here. I could see Lovejoy being part of a package deal in the draft, and Paul Martin trying to be moved.

Then you have

Orpik - Letang
Niskanen - Big Z
Despres - Engelland
Strait

I know, I know. Engelland and Despres is risky, but Despres is a very smart defender. Engelland will always play defensive and make sure he's ready to protect Flower. Despres can learn develop his two-way game as a jack-of-all-trades in that situation.

Why doesn't anybody propose we trade Z? He has been the worst of the group IMO. I am now officially sold on keeping Niskanen.

I don't think it was out of nowhere. He got a bit of a break and came back playing on a line that suited him better.

Johnson was horrible for half the game. He was solid the second half. The first half was bad enough that I can't give him a + or even an = but still, its something.

+ Super Duper. I think we'd all agree Chris Kunitz had a great year and is a definately a top 6 winger. Here's the stat lines for Kunitz and Dupuis
GP-G-A-P
Dupuis 78-24-30-54
Kunitz 78-23-31-54

= BJ had a great rest-of-the game after letting the bad ennis goal

Good game! Can't wait for Philly on Sunday. If we smash them, that would be so awesome.

I'd look to dealing Martin before Z.

Z is on a steal of a contract. PK stud. And shot blocker extraordinaire. Those don't grow on trees.

Anyone want to say Niskanen is just an average bottom pairing guy anymore? And with Despres likely being up next year, Martin's skillset can be replaced.

It would not shock me to see Morrow have a Staal like camp and force managements hand. He played good enough at this years camp to warrent a few game tryout and has only gotten better with time.

It would not surprise me to see RS busy on the draft floor this year making moves that might surprise a few of us. Then again maybe it will be some of the moves we would like to see as well. I think it will be an interesting draft day in Pittsburgh, wish I could go.

I could be way off base and probably I am but hears for hoping!

I think Shero has to deal some of the surplus defense that are stacked up in the system. Thankfully there is a good market for them right now as well. He should be able to get some picks or forward prospects back for them.
