Good game all around for the Rangers tonight. Del Zotto finally shot the puck and look what happened. Dubinsky was noticable as was Callahan, Boyle, Gaborik and Richards. They did let off the gas for part of the 2nd but the defense was so solid that the Canadiens couldn't get any shots.
Stupid retards had to do the Ole chant. Cost me a shutout in two fantasy leagues. Can't just be happy beating Montreal.

Missed the first half of the game but I thought we looked good from that point on. Montreal looked disinterested in the third period. Good to see us with some killer instinct keeping the pressure on. Magic number is at 3.
So, team wise, I noticed something today that is quite positive for the Rangers. A difference today, when comparing to the stretch they had the past 2ish months where they didn't play that well, is how fast they closed down the space when people were in their zone. For example, if the puck went back to a Montreal defenseman at the point, the winger got out and up really fast to take away the shooting lane. Also, when the puck went into the boards, the Rangers were really quick at getting there and preventing the Canadiens from digging it out and setting up a play. I think the most obvious example was Staal in the end of the 3rd period where the was just bouncing people off the puck repeatedly in the defensive zone.
In general, they just looked a lot fresher and faster than usual. That's a really good sign!
This win more or less solidifies the first place in the East for us. We either need to get 3 points in the final 4 games or Pitts needs to lose 3 points in their 4 games, or some combination of the two. Short of a complete collapse by us combined with a hot streak by them, we are #1 in the East.
Seeing Michael Del Zotto do what he is doing is maybe the biggest plus for this team.
That statement he made on twitter about peaking for the playoffs, well, I guess we will have to see how that turns out, but they have been playing better.
Even though they beat a team near the bottom, they are a team that always got into the Rangers' heads. Tonight, NYR blew them off. And MDZ played a big part, being aggressive offensively. Rangers simply have to have that.
This team is getting hot at the right time. I wish the playoffs started in a few days. We are READY.
Let's please stay healthy. I really think we can beat anyone in the East in a 7 game series. WE WANT THE CUP!!!!!!!!
Say what you want about Brian Boyle, but he absolutely LOVES playing for this team and he gives it 110% all the time. That was a wonderful and heartfelt post-game interview by BB.
For the first time in awhile, it seems like the team is firing on all cylinders. Almost everyone is playing well and making an impact. If they keep this up and carry this play into the postseason, they will be a tough team to eliminate.
