what determines which series' start on wednesday or thursday?

what determines which series' start on wednesday or thursday?

or is it random?

I'd assume scheduling constraints with the arena would have some bearing on it

Building availability contributes to pretty much all of the decision making, and then of-course, TV also effects. If NBC really wants two series on the weekend shown a particular way, some teams could actually start Friday too.

Celtics play on Wednesday, I know Bruins/Ottawa will start on Thursday/Saturday (You own HNIC Ottawa)

i'll be home in NJ for spring break from the 6th to the 16th. If the series starts wednesday then game 3 should be sunday which would allow me to go. thursday or friday and i'm boned

Yes. I would also assume that the Canucks will also start on Thursday (depending on availability) if they play a Pacific coast team. If they're playing Dallas, then Vancouver and Ottawa (if they make it) will alternate every day on HNIC.

Interestingly enough, the staples centre has basketball games booked from 13th to 17th, 14 and 15 are afternoon games though, so I'm assuming they can get the ice ready in time. Maybe 8pm starts.

You can pretty much book it that ott and van will start out thurs/sat, but that might change later on in those series.
