i voted 200x yesterday morning watching Paul with Simon pegg and Nick Frost...I then went to my brothers wedding rehearsal at 5pm, for which i am the best man, and while the priest rambled on about what i am supposed to do, i voted another ~50...the phone makes it more difficult but i got in as much as i could. hoping it was enough!

I thought if we would have passed up Rinne, they would have tweeted it.

Lame.

Put in my one vote for Giroux and I'm done with it.

Still baffles me how Rinne beats Lunqvist and Tavares?

Well, guess I'm not buying NHL 13. But I'd encourage everyone to vote for Rinne. The handful who held up their end of the bargain notwithstanding, I don't want to see Flyers fans happy.

Well done anyway guys. I'm sure you guys killed us in North America, it was likely the Finnish vote that propelled him over JT. Sorry it had to be Peks that took down Tavares, I was rooting for him up until he met Rinne and he got 2,000+ votes from me when he went up against Datsyuk.

Which is ********, because Europe gets a different cover. Voting should've been limited to North America, where the game would be sold.

Oh well it was a nice run I was shocked he got this far. I'm done voting myself but hoping Rinne knocks Giroux out.

Not really about the team as much as the individual on the cover. At least with Giroux he's a young, dynamic offensive player on a historic franchise, and being a North American helps from a sales perspective.

Imagine you're the marketing rep for EA who's got to sell a game with Pekka Rinne on the cover?

If it was going to be one goalie on the cover, and a European at that, I'd have bet my mortgage that it would've been the Queen. At least he gets recognized on the street in the City he plays in.

Unbelievable. Oh well, I'll vote once for Giroux and then that's it. At least this run got Tavares more attention league wide. Also good to see his fellow players stepping up for him

The game, with that cover, is only sold in North America.

Peyton Hillis won the Madden vote and it sold just fine... I doubt EA is worried. I wont address the rest of the stuff, I understand the loss is fresh, but there's no need to diss the Preds fans, it's not like they somehow cheated to help Pekka win.

For me personally, I probably wasn't going to buy it anyway. I usually buy it every other year. I would've definitely bought it had JT been on the cover.

Of course, there are now Preds/Flyers fans that will buy it that weren't planning on buying it previously.

im not buying it...not bc i dont wanna play or im boycotting the fact that Rinne will likely be the coverboy in Finland regardless of what happens with this vote, but bc i havent bought a new gaming system since the original xbox. Id love to, but got laid off and had to leave my apartment and ive been playing catch up ever since. I put in at least 10k votes the past few weeks, all for a game ill never buy...but it was all for our boy JT. Love that kid...in a totally platonic way

Too bad. I really felt JT deserved to be there. I expect this voting thing to catch on and be here next year. So don't expect any Islander to ever grace the cover of this game if JT can't make it. And that is not because of you all. We have one passionate fanbase. I'm sad.

Madden is a completely different ballgame altogether.

I didn't "diss" anyone just pointed out that Rinne isnt really marketable. How he advanced in this thing and Shea Weber didnt, I'll never know?

For shame. I probably wouldn't have bought it either way, but it's probably the only way and Islander would ever make the cover.

Shea Weber was never in it. Saying that Rinne wouldn't be recognized on the street in Nashville seems like a sleight to Preds fans, but maybe I'm wrong, I can tell you for certain that isn't the case anyway. If we're talking about who EA would prefer on the cover, I'll bet they weren't chomping at the bit to have JT on there either. But the point of a fan vote certainly isn't to give EA what they want anyway.

It doesn't matter, it was a fun round of voting and I'm sure it was very close. I voted for JT up until he faced Rinne and it sucks that they had to meet up in the semis.

Ironically, voting for the King may have been the smarter move. Certainly would have split the Pens and Philly vote against us, or they may have both voted for us (despite what Philly fans may tell you, I'd bet a good majority of them voted for Pekka).
