Carter Hutton

Chicago Blackhawks‏ @NHLBlackhawks
The #Blackhawks have recalled goaltender Carter Hutton from Rockford: http://*******/FO3hsv

Sounds like Emery is still out with the flu.

I'm guessing we'll probably get a look at him in the 2nd period.

Hutton started the year in the ECHL. Won #IceHogs starting gig; helped RFD get back in playoff race; now recalled by #Blackhawks. #HardWork

Hopefully our defense realizes what's at stake if they put in a half ass effort tonight...

I'm thinking a 3-2 win. Kane, Hossa and Shaw with goals.

When crow starts he's always good for a minimum of two goals, I kind of wish they'd give this Hutton fella a shot, especially considering our reputation with rookie netminders.

I would just love to see another goalie behind this team for a game. CC had a decent game coming in for Emery, don't want to screw that up either.

I like the truth to this sarcasm.

I would be very surprised if Carter Hutton started in Dallas. I wish the Blackhawks would have him in net tonight. He probably needs some adjusting --meeting the team and handling the lockeroom. I think having him watch a game for 60 minutes riding the bench the whole game would be fine. I'm hoping he gets a start Sunday, against the Washington Capitals.

If Crawford is horrible tonight against Dallas it becomes an easy decision for Queneville for Sunday's game. I expect Crawford to be ok. I think we pick u[p one point tonight. Blackhawks defense has played well, and I expect that to continue.

I'm expecting us to give up a goal within the first 5 minutes of the game as usual because this is almost a mandatory occurence! The Blackhawks will play well the rest of the game and find a way to pickup a point on the road.

Hope he gets some ice time before he gets sent back down..... wait, no I don't! That'd almost assuredly mean that Crawford got rocked in a game, then.

I'd love to see Hutton get in a game but we need the win and we need Crawford to take the reigns so let's just wait until training camp/preseason to see what Hutton can do against NHLers.

I still feel he'll be a successful NHL goalie. Maybe here, maybe not, but it would be foolish to give up on him before he even gets a chance.

No not at all. Alec Richards probably so. Salak had a lot of off ice issues going on this year and it was his 1st year in N. America. The Blackhawks clearly will give him atleast 1 1/2 more years. I expect Salak to be with Rockford all of next year. Rockford should have 1a & 1b type of goaltenders battling. Plus Rockford's defense was horrible this past year and they should be better than average on defense next year.

I think Salak can be a #1 in the NHL, but more likely will be a journeyman goalie with 2.56GA and .911%

I'm pretty sure he's played in the AHL for a season or two. I think he was an all-star one year...

I checked it you were right. He played in the AHL and then went back to Europe. When the Blackhawks got him in the Florida trade for some reason I thought he came from Europe and had only European experience. So thanks for the correction.

My point was that moving to Rockford transitioning having a child he had quite a bit of off ice issues going on. I think the Blackhawks keep him around another full season before parting ways.

How about you do you think they keep him around or do you think he is on a short leash where they part ways with him after this season?

I've been dumping on Salak this season, but I still have faith he'll be a solid NHL goalie in the future.

I am not interested in "developing" goalies. You can't trust him not to fall apart (like Crawford, Reimer, and many others before them) as teams scout him out and identify trends and weaknesses and once they do, that entire season is a waste.

We got away with it with Niemi with a stacked team. Established is the way to go.

Exactly. If Hawks were serious about this year an established goalie was there for the taking. Disappointing to me that a deal couldn't or didn't take place.

And since we're stuck with what we got, if CC doesn't rise to the occasion tonight, and knowing Q, the way I see it, he has the next 2 games after tonight to regain the number one job. Personally I'd go with Emery for the duration of the season, unless CC does a complete about face tonight.

... and I might add, I won't be surprised if Q gives Hutton a look down the stretch. Stranger things have happened.

Well, Crawford proved himself tonight...

SOP is he will have another good game, maybe 2 then wet the bed.

I am rooting for him to finally get it together and play consistently well but just not hopeful considering his play this season.
