More reason to keep Marney in the avatar. He ruined my Sharks!

**** look at Edmonton if you want proof of that. Draft picks that most teams would kill for, yet can't win to save their lives.
What does this have to do with trusting the Wild organization?

Drafting higher = better chance of getting an impact player. More impact players = more wins down the road. I'm pretty sure you're just trolling though.

Sure because Chicago, Washington, St Louis, Pittsburgh, Ottawa, and Edmonton turned their franchises around by consistently drafting 14-16th overall. They totally found Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin, Nugent Hopkins, Doughty, Bogosian, etc, etc, etc in the middle of the first round.

Because Edmonton has HORRIBLE goaltending and defense. They can't outscore their errors.

Instead of bringing up AHL'ers from Houston, we should've just coaxed Zucker and Coyle out of college a lot sooner.

Yeah, what squidz said. Plus it seems like lately if I even mention a team I have in my potential bandwagon they turn to total crap.

It has everything to do with trusting them to draft impact players where ever they end up in the draft.

I am not arguing that. There is only so much room on the roster...drafting another top forward is really allowing us to trade prospects. We need a D-Man and in this draft we will get one in the 5-9 range where we will end up.

Man, I wonder what Detroit is doing then? They haven't had a high draft pick in how long?

Losing game after game really sucks, I hope this Wild team will make a quick turnaround, similar to the Flyers. I would hate to see my two favourite teams finish bottom 5 year after year after year....

Btw I just checked the highlights, seems like Zucker had a great game

Man, I wonder what Detroit is doing then? They haven't had a high draft pick in how long?

Perhaps they should have drafted better.
For **** sake, do you know how to build an NHL team? Edmonton only started drafting 1st-2nd overall for two years now, they won't reap the benefits from it until 4-5 years down the road. Washington, Chicago, and Pittsburgh drafted their stars 6-7 years ago. LA rebuilt their team through the draft and it took 6-8 years before they finally started to reap the benefits. They just drafted most of their star forwards they need, they're working on defense and goaltending now.

Detroit is Detroit because they're Detroit, probably something in the water. If Detroit's system was that easy to emulate everyone would be doing it. Oh yeah plus they found Datsyuk, Zetterberg, etc in later rounds YEARS ago which is why they're still pretty good and thanks to being on top for so many years they get first crack at the good UFA most of the time.

Ever wonder why Minnesota never gets over the hump, because we constantly draft in the 12th-16th range and most of them end up busts. It's not a joke on why a prospect column for us is labelled First Round Bust. Because Cuma is our only first rounder from Risenbourgh(or whatever the hell his name is) still left from his reign that isn't a complete bust. Most of our players are through trades and UFA signings, but we need good players from the draft.

Thanks to Fletch, we essentially re-built our prospect pool in three years with good scouting, and from the look of it so far they seem to be a bright future ahead of us. It's just a question of whether or not they're going to be NHL calibre. Fletch essentially had to re-build this team from 5-6 years of Risenbourgh's craptastic GM'ing.

For some sick reason I always love to root for the Nucks in the playoffs, seeing them get close tot he finals, and then savoring the moment when they fall flat on their faces breaking the hearts of all those obnoxious fans they have.

I'm sure we'll hear more about Kampfer tomorrow. Assuming we're waiting until his injury is confirmed before we start a thread?

Please don't be a concussion.
