"When you look at the players, maybe there's that one guy who was called up who never would have been called up if it wasn't for our situation and will make it next year because of what we're learning right now. He might score a Stanley Cup goal two years from now. You never know."
Quote:
"We have resiliency, we fight and we have character. You can lose games but you can't lose your soul because you are quitting. And our players have shown that, and again (Saturday night)..You have guys sticking together, you have players who want to respect our fans and continuing growing that relationship that is evident out there. That was a packed house. People were wild out there and it felt like a playoff atmosphere. . . I think everything was done (against Winnipeg).''
LET'S GO BOLTS!

Vokoun is also having groinal problems, and is listed as out indefinitely. Neuvirth has been playing well in his absence, and would likely get the start.

Strange game for me. I've loathed the Panthers since they were gifted John Vanbiesbrouck in the '93 Expansion Draft and the had the gall to call themselves Florida's team with their name. Pretentious as ****.
I can't cheer against the Bolts winning, even a meaningless game like this. I wish there were some way to hurt the Panthers as well though.
Borrowing from Dave Mishkin circa 2004...."It's over". I'm thankful that it's the last home game of the season. What a frustrating year. Hopefully, Ovechicken plays embarasasingly poorly like he has been and we can laugh at his on-ice follies tonight.
Nigel was partying on the Party Deck after the Winnipeg game and apologized to me for the bad season. Kinda cool that an assistant coach hangs out at the Forum after the party. I did ask about the power play and he just looked at the ground.
As for the poster above from Florida, screw the Panturds.
Cheering for the Bolts to win of course, no matter who it helps or hurts. Want to see Stammer get lots of goals.
As far as the Panthers...don't like them, but don't have any hate for them either. Especially not to the level that I do for the Craps. Plus the added joy of seeing a team from Florida stick it to the elitist ****s who want to make it 10. Yeah, I'll be cheering for the kitties. If the Bolts can do their part by making Washington look silly, so much the better.
On one hand, I hate the Sabres (or their fans at least) so I would be content if they missed out on the playoffs. But on the other hand, that means the Caps get in (the likelihood of them doing anything though is slim to none).
On Monday, fans are encouraged to arrive early for player red carpet arrivals beginning at 3:30 p.m. on the west plaza. There will be face painters and balloon artists on the plaza pre-game as well as live music. Fans will also be able to register to win unique experiences and prizes on the plaza including signed player sticks and the chance to fire the tesla coils. The first 3,000 fans attending the game against the Capitals will receive a Phil Esposito replica statue, presented by Kane’s Furniture. Prior to the puck-drop, individuals can purchase hot dogs and sodas for a discounted price of $1 each. Additionally, scratched Lightning players will sign autographs for select PNC Bank Club and XO VIP Club members.
I would love to help the Capitals miss the playoffs. And Stamkos a 4 or 5 goal game would be sweet to finish off the home schedule...If nothing else, just get to 60! And I'm not a Panthers fan...but I'd rather it be a team from Florida than any of the others that wins this division.
I view the 3/8 gave vs. the Caps as this season's back breaker. A tactical error led to a strategic blunder. That game gave the Caps life and sent us into the final tail spin.
