I've had a feeling that IF we were to beat Detroit last night that us and the Wings isn't exactly the first-round lock that most people seem to be assuming. With that win I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit drops to 6th. Or, at the very least, makes that final day match-up with Chicago the game that decides who is what seed. Of COURSE the Wings would falter enough to drop to 6 and play a weaker 3 seed haha
We could get swept; not kidding. We could also sweep. DET is always a dangerous team in the playoffs; veteran experience cannot be understated and they have a lot of it. I'd like to think we'll win, but having been a Vanderbilt basketball fan forever has taught me humility by the bucketload.

Come on!
Don't compare kids in college to pro hockey players... See where our college kids are... In press box!!!

NCAA fan rule number 21: Except for very rare instances (i.e. Duke in basketball, USC in football), primarily academic/private schools will never win any kind of championship or contend at an elite status in most sports. Primarily basketball and football.
I think it's like that in the rule book somewhere haha
Whether we play Detroit or Chicago, I think it would be a huge and important step forward for us to just to win. I don't care if it's in 4-5-6 or 7. Just win. Get the Central monkey off of our backs!
I do NOT want to slip to 6th and play LA. Not only do I think that's a bad matchup for us, but even as the Kings are a good team, it won't do us as well credibility-wise to beat them to get into the second round as it would be to do that to Detroit or Chicago.
Nevertheless, I'm anxiously waiting for Barry Melrose to pick us to lose in 5 to whomever we play.
Also, I know regular season doesn't mean anything in the playoffs, but while both Detroit and Chicago have better home records than us, they have very suspect road records. I think it plays to our advantage that we've had pretty decent success both at home and on the road.
Not excited about the prospect of playing LA. Would much rather play Phoenix or San Jose. I think it's ironic that I may want to play the Kings less than Chicago or Detroit.
would pay cash to play them 1st rd. would be the best possible western matchup, dont bother disagreeign w/ me lol. I dont care who is healthy on detroit, datsyuk, zetterburger, lidstrom, name em' etc...
If we defeat detroit in the playoffs, i see a huge payoff with that circus monkey off our back. Think of legwand. erats, Weber, Suters, etc, confidence after a series win against the wings...... Who better to beat than the wingz? sure the blues, but historically, not a chance. lets take the blues in the 2nd rd, if they even make it.. nothings guaranteed, even with a president trophy, ask the sharks how awesome their prez trphies are.... sure sweet but it aint no cup.....
my optimism is extremely high right now, i dont know if its cuz i live in the mile high city or what, but its definitely there!
lol
look for the sean white look alike (so im told) with the Bonk old school jersey on @ the pepsi center april 7th last reg. season game...... there will be a crew including me and my fellow Coloradan preds fans alliance , could be anywhere from 3-10 ppl.
cant wait! =)
EDIT: didn't notice the blues are 1pt behind VAN now for the presidents trophy, regardless, the blues have to be riding high after the season they've accomplished...
someones gotta knock em off their high horse.... would love it to be us
