Political Discussion - "on-topic & unmoderated"Rated PG13, unmoderated but threads must stay on topic - that means you can flame each other all you want as long as it's legal
Never liked him, agree with him on just about every issue, can't stand listening to him rant and rave. And by the available reports it appears he was an a-hole to work with. What a surprise!
I remember one time I was looking through a bookstore and happened to find a book of his. When I was browsing through it, it was all negative attacks. When he had countdown, he ended every show with some dumb bit where he insulted someone every day, he compiled them all into a book. Jerk
The Old-Timers listen to that guy religously, won't happen.
Yeah, but old people die. Eventually his listener base will erode - or die off - to the point where it's no longer profitable to have him on the air. His average listener is very old.
I used to like Olbermann because he was the only person on "MSM", if you could call MSNBC that at the time, calling out the Bush Admin for their BS.
Eventually he just kept portraying every issue as if it were on the same level. You can't scream from the mountain tops about spilled milk every day and expect to be taken seriously.

Not before time, but I wouldn't make the mistake of thinking he's gone forever. Rush has gone through a couple reincarnations too IIRC. A lot of your big media blow-hards have a way of embarrassing themselves over time, taking a little while off, and re-surfacing in another similar environment, usually for another company.

...and always with that remarkable sense of self promotion.
