Wrestlemania
Wrestlemania...
As a wrestling fan, this is our Christmas. This is the one PPV that we always buy and we always look forward to every year. Even though the fans of today are very different from the days of yesteryear, it seems we all revert back to children when the biggest event of the year takes place.
Whether or not fans like wrestling or not, just about everyone knows the main event this year is between Rock and Cena. The match of two eras is a huge draw for today's pop culture where even people who never watched the show at least know these two stars. I definitely believe this takes over the WM 23 spot as #1 most sold PPV ever.
If Cena/Rock doesn't give you what you want, how about Punk/Jericho for the WWE title or HHH/Taker in a hell in a cell? This card is jam packed with good matches and to me is only short of a MITB ladder match. This definitely has a chance to be a top 5 WrestleMania of all time.
The Card
John Cena vs. The Rock
The Undertaker vs. Triple H (Hell in a Cell Match with special referee Shawn Michaels)
WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho
World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus
Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show
Team Johnny vs. Team Teddy
Kane vs. Randy Orton
Kelly Kelly & Maria Menounos vs. Divas Champion Beth Phoenix & Eve
WWE Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match
Cole's Video Matchup
(Expand browser & make text size medium or less to see videos side by side)
This has the potential to be one of the best WrestleMania's ever. The card is stacked.
Predictions:
Once in a Lifetime John Cena vs. The Rock Winner: John Cena
Hell in a Cell with Shawn Michaels as Special Referee The Undertaker vs. Triple H Winner: The Undertaker
WWE Championship CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho Winner: Chris Jericho
World Heavyweight Championship Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus Winner: Sheamus
Team Johnny vs. Team Teddy Winner: Team Johnny
Intercontinental Championship Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show Winner: Cody Rhodes
Randy Orton vs. Kane Winner: Randy Orton
Kelly Kelly & Maria Menounos vs. Beth Phoenix & Eve Winner: Kelly Kelly & Maria Menounos
Triple Threat WWE Tag Team Championship Match Epico & Primo (c) vs. The Usos vs. Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel Winner: Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel
I also think Brock Lesnar makes an appearance on this show and they come to a deal. It's going to be huge.
I'd have Jericho going over Punk by splashing a bottle of beer in his face and hitting the codebreaker leading to Punk chasing Jericho for the championship, culminating in a ladder match at Extreme Rules in Punk's hometown of Chicago.
So pumped, first wrestlemania I'l ever watch live. I got:
Cena over Rock
Taker over HHH
Punk over Jericho
Bryan over Sheamus
Rhodes over Show
Johnny over Teddy
Orton over Kane
Face girls over Heel girls
Uso's win the tag titles
I don't think I'll be able to see this though -- I'm not 100% sure though.
Once in a Lifetime
John Cena vs. The Rock Winner: John Cena
Hell in a Cell with Shawn Michaels as Special Referee
The Undertaker vs. Triple H Winner: The Undertaker
WWE Championship
CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho Winner: CM Punk
World Heavyweight Championship
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus Winner: Sheamus
Team Johnny vs. Team Teddy Winner: Team Teddy.
Intercontinental Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show Winner: This is tough, I want to believe Big Show will come out and squash Rhodes. But I don't see that happening so with that said, Rhodes.
Randy Orton vs. Kane Winner: Randy Orton
Kelly Kelly & Maria Menounos vs. Beth Phoenix & Eve Winner: Kelly Kelly & Maria Menounos
Triple Threat WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Epico & Primo (c) vs. The Usos vs. Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel Winner: Champs retain, Although, I don't really know about this though.

Cena *hope I'm wrong*
Undertaker *really?*
CM Punk *Hope Jericho wins*
Sheamus *Aj screws Bryan*
Randy Orton *ZZZZZZZZZZ*
Big Show *Big show wins in 5 minutes*
Kelly Kelly + Maria Menounos *Bathroom break*
Team Teddy *Team Johnny probably wins*
Primo + Epico *hoping Usos
I can't really see any scenario which has Rock going over Cena, clean.
As much as I would love to see it, I would assume it would be "bad for business." On one hand you have a movie star, a former WWE star, and arguably one of the greatest of all-time, who shows up maybe two or three times per year. On the other hand, you have your current star and money maker who although is hated, is undoubtedly the companies TOP star. And I'm a huge Punk fan, but even I will admit at this time Cena is still "the man."
Anyways, would it really be a smart business decision to have a part time former wrestler and current movie star come in and go clean over your 365 day a year top company man? Probably not.
Unfortunately, Cena goes over and It'll likely end with Rock shaking his hand afterwords.

Awesome GDT, Cole.
The thing I always look forward to for Wrestlemania - besides the epic moments, great cards - is the way the WWE steps up their video editing and making great promos to hype up their matches. Last year, with one video, they convinced the WWE Universe that Miz was a legit champion and deserved his spot in the Main Event. Of course looking at it now, we laugh at him being there but that promo they aired really captured the audience. I feel they've done it again with Cena's invincible promo.

I am so pumped for this. I cant wait. Cena and Rock probably wont be the most technical match, but the excitement will be off the charts. Its gonna be crazy. I just hope nothing stupid happens.
I have very high expectations for Jericho and Punk. It has the potential to be an amazing match. I was reading an article that made a great point. It said that this marks the 25th anniversary of WM3 and the Savage/Steamboat match. Its widely known that Savage was big influence on Punk and Steamboat was the same for Jericho. I can see them giving all they got to try and match up to that match 25 years ago.
Honestly I'm looking forward to Taker-HHH the most, as are many people. It's going to be the best match of the night. Taker is a much better wrestler than The Rock, and HHH is much better than Cena. And, it's happening in a HIAC.
Not all matches deserves blood - but the Taker/HHH definitely does. I don't know if they will let these guys do it, but it would fit in perfectly. I'm not a fan of blood in matches, typically, but it just feels like it needs it.

They won't let them do it but if they want to do it - they just will. They'll just take the fine.
Hard to believe a year has gone by so quickly and the Rock/Cena match is tomorrow. When they first announced it, it seemed like it would take forever with the hype and all but it actually worked.
That and it'll be weird to see Taker take off his hood and be sporting a Stone Cold look, wonder how people will react to that.
I think there is going to be blood in Taker/HHH. No way there won't be. It's just the type of match, the special feel that it has to it that you just know it's going to have blood.
