Smid and Petry are not on the California road trip.
Likely pairings...
Schultz - Whitney
Sutton - Potter
Barker - Teubert

If anyone at the league doesn't believe the "emergency" part, just show them the lineup

The Leafs aren't winning another game so the Oilers may be able to pull a couple of games out to finish 28th.

Wow we easily have the worst defence in the league.

My first thought as well....I don't see another "W" with that defence lineup.

Good for him, I still think that he has a future here as a bottom pairing nasty piece of work that other teams hate going into the corners against.

Probably toast, he has not been hard to play against this year, he was that in spades last year, but this year he hasn't been nearly as physical. When you are limited in your puck skills and skating you need to be banging bodies and roughing guys up, he has gone away from that. That's the 2nd time that I've seen him do that. His rookie year in Springfield he was a bear to play against, the next year not even close. Teubert is a better skater and possibly a stronger player (although not as good of a fighter).

Teubert has always been thought to have higher potential than a mid round pick like Peckham.
Peckham was a long shot to even make the NHL when he was drafted.

Not with that D we won't. Whitney and Schultz will get eaten alive by other team's top lines and our bottom four consists of three borderline 7th d-men and a green ahl callup.
Besides, even with Smid and Petry, LA and Vancouver would pretty much be certain losses. And there is no way we take both from Anaheim with that D. We're finishing 29th.

Oilers won back-to-back against Vancouver last year at the end of the season. If the game means nothing to the Canucks, anything can happen.
As for Anaheim, I see a split there for sure.

Teubert makes Peckham expendable IMO.
BTW, any updates on the injures to 5 and 58?

The Isles look like they're trying to win. I'm not so sure about those other 2 teams or Minny though...
