It's times like this where you realize that this team really needs two more top 4 guys on this team next season if we expect to try and compete legitimately. A couple injuries in our top 4 and it is just ugly as all hell.

I guess we'll see. But I think you are overly optimistic. We've beaten Vancouver once this season and it was when we were rolling early and Khabby was standing on his head. Plus, even if they sit all their top players, their B team can beat that defense.

This is the last I will reply to on this topic in here. This thread is about Teubert's callup, and I shouldn't be taking it off topic. If you want to keep discussing it, PM me.

Let's hope Schultz and Whitney are able to play 40+ minutes a night...

I don't see that being a problem for Whitney.

Pylons do not expend a lot of energy.

Apparently you weren't paying attention to the defence pairings we're going with.

Smid and Petry are not on the California road trip.

Likely pairings...

Schultz - Whitney
Sutton - Potter
Barker - Teubert

Tank mode!

As loathe as I am to want the team to tank, at this point of the season there really is nothing to play for. Giving Teubert a few games to show any improvements in his game is a great idea.

Hopefully Barker can play 40 minutes - that will guarantee the other team a win.

How about one more top 4 guy and a legit bottom pairing guy? IMO the top 4 looks fine if Whitney can pick up some speed in the offseason. We just can't afford to have the Barker's and Potter's of the world in an everyday capacity if we want to be a competitive club.

I've already shown you a pattern with Peckham, he is either very physical or not very physical, there seems to be no happy medium with him. Teubert is consistently working guys over along the boards. Teubert is a bigger and faster skating version of Peckham. IMO the re-signing of Sutton all but guarantees an exit for Peckham next year.

Agreed, no idea on the second art of your post.

We'll show them all how to tank. Is it time to shut RNH and Eberle down as well?

Depending on Whitney to become a consistent top 4 d-man who can produce and stay healthy at this point is kind of... Meh. He's sketchy. I like him but he's soft and if he's not producing he's not the greatest defender, slow to react and slow in general.. They need someone stronger, faster and more physical. Schultz may appear to be a top 4 for the time being but I think the defense is looking a lot better if he's on the bottom pairing. Then you know you have depth.

The Oilers need two more top 4 D-men, or a big #1 ala She Weber or Ryan Suter.

This. Not saying Petry and Smid are not hurt but one has to CONSIDER thet are being sat and their injuries SLIGHTLY exaggerated for other reasons. And I don't mind.

Alright! Sending in the poor performers and AHL'ers.

29th is all ours. Do we have to wait till June or can we just take Grigorenko now?

Informal Poll time....

Taylor Hall and MPS to Smashville in exchange for Shea Weber.....any takers?

Yah, they better start checking some players hands to make sure they don't have a hang nail. We wouldn't want them to get an infection, then to antibiotics, then to surgery, then poor recovery, then them blasting the team for making them play when they were hurt.

I would trade Whitney next year and that would improve on the team speed and quickness on defense.

Besides, even with Smid and Petry, LA and Vancouver would pretty much be certain losses. And there is no way we take both from Anaheim with that D. We're finishing 29th.
Well, one down one to go.
