It sucks cause I think Regier is a good GM...he pulled off some good trades at the deadline...but his absolute loyalty to Ruff is his downfall...you need to know when to fire a coach.
Yep, if you can't motivate a team into beating the mess that is Toronto, it's time to go!

I know i will be attacked for saying as much, but I thought Roy had some jump last night...his execution was what sucked. He was skating well though...but the turnovers and lack of finish cancels that out.

Vanek is playing injured, part of me thinks maybe we should call somebody up and sit him out. He is a liability out there.

Miller has got to be worn out. He has been played to the point of exhaustion.

I think we need to admit that our D core has regressed this year. Regehr looks like a steady 5-6 guy. Sekera continues to hover between being a solid 3-4 D man or a very good bottom pairing player. Sulzer is a 6/7, Weber has regressed back to a number 7, Myers bounces back and forth from a top pairing player to a decent 3/4 option, Leo is being played top line minutes when he is a 3/4 guy. The only D man who looks like he can be a top pairing player is Ehrhoff. We need our young guys to develop more consistently.

Good news is we are able to see the guys who care and want to win. Now we can take the offseason and weed out the ones who dont want to be here.

Out : Boyes, Hecht ( to risky to bring back unless its under a million), Roy, try to shop leino, Leopold, Weber

Dont touch: Vanek, Hodgson, Ennis, Ehrhoff, Myers, Sekera, Foligno, Stafford

Everything else id be willing to at least listen

I dont see all the leino hate, sure the guy is not great and is overpayed but with the cap being so high it shouldnt matter all that much for the next couple of years, he is a 3 million dollar player. He has only play about 150 NHL games and has had a tough year along with many other players, give him another year to see how he does. Not defending the contract I never liked it

You don't say, a Fanek desperately wanting Roy gone but wants to make Vanek an untouchable. Because that's what this organization needs, a $7m player who's scored between 53 and 64 pts in four of the last five seasons.

Yesssss, we must keep him!!! He's untouchable!!!!

Wake up, it's not 2006-07.

I'd put feelers out for Sekera and Vanek honestly. Both are nice guys and highly skilled but we have a plethora of that. I have to believe Vanek is playing hurt because if he doesen't have a legitimate injury right now, I'm going to be pissed. He grimaces every time he touches the puck or gets nudged by an opponent and he's either too hurt or too lazy to back check because he just hooks guys and gets dumb penalties now. He would definitely be an interesting trading piece.

Also, in reference to last night's game, Brayden McNabb quite frankly had the worst game I have seen by a Buffalo defenseman in 5 years. You're a big guy! Why don't you use it? He was literally trying to push Ashton and Connolly down and they brushed him off like he was an adolescent girl.

... I haven't seen Myers get caught flat footed all year. Out of position A LOT? Oh yeah, a ton, but never flat footed.

He gets caught flat footed all the time and people fly by him and end up getting breakaways

I'm very happy kyndig and theyarescarygood aren't our GM. Trading Myers is flat out stupid unless the return is heavily in our favor.

I'm not saying go out looking to trade Myers he's not untouchable, if we were able to get a similar up and comer like skinner I would consider it

We were on borrowed time months ago. This is where Regier's good work in grabbing a first for Gaustad helps take the sting out of that potential 9th place finish. Not by much, of course, but it helps.

Time to just kick back and enjoy the hockey we have left and see what happens. The emergence of Foligno and Ennis in the center position as well as having Hodgson and two firsts... things could be a lot worse.

Where in my post does it say that I want to trade Myers for garbage in return?

That was Jason Chimera quite possibly one of the fastest guys in the league? Was it even a full breakaway? Myers disrupted it at least. Can you recall any other times?

Point is, teams aren't going to anty up the chips needed to obtain Myers, so it's stupid to even consider. On the list of d men we want to keep, he should be at the top. That's all I'm saying.
