my favorite memory was Brad Marsh flipping a puck off the top of the glass than hit my girlfriend at the time on top of the head. usher was there in 2 seconds, then came back with a release she had to sign saying she refused to go to the hospital (I paid $60 a piece from a scalper). some dink stole the puck, so I had to go buy her one.
also when playing an exhibition game in Moncton against the Blackhawks (as they were then) I got to "meet" the team when they came off the bus. I was probably around 12 or so. big thrill.
on ice, Lanny's OT winner vs Islanders. Sittler's 10 point night but I threw up that night so that took away from the night. the magic of 93. too many on ice.
Gilmour wrap around. I was at that game and went ballistic!
I was also at the game when Carter homered
You mean you were at the Jays game, right?
The Leafs played in Chicago that night, IIRC, because the same night the Jays won that '93 series, the Leafs actually set an NHL record with their 10th win to begin the season in Chicago, and the Jays story obviously stole front page news.
Favourite moments, off the top of my head (in no real order)
Sittler's 10-point night
McDonald's OT winner vs the Islanders
Run of '93 (and, to a lesser extent, '94, '99 and '02)
Tucker into the Sens bench (comdey point of view)
The collective owning of the Sens in the playoffs
Wendel fights, especially vs Probert and McSorley
Tiger Williams first goal back at Maple Leaf Gardens
My first Leaf game (Jan. 5, 1977, 6-4 over Colorado)
Ian Turnbull five-goal night
Sittler five-goal night in playoffs vs Flyers
The night I heard of the Gilmour trade
The Gardens (just loved that place)
What an awesome night. I remember I was just a little guy, but it was a Saturday night and I was being babysat by my hot neighbour. Good night all around.
If you look closely, you will see Carlyle in the mob.
It was beautiful. One of the best memories I had. I remember taping this on the vcr and replaying this a billion times. The Goal, The call, one of the trainers squirting the water out of the bottle. Just something I will always remember. The Gilmour wrap around was another epic moment.
Same here. Absolutely the greatest moment I've had as a Leafs fan. I'll always remember Bob Cole calling "This has been an unbelievable turn of events! The Leafs march on!"
Another funny moment had to be Danny Markov giving Jagr the salute when the Leafs knocked the Penguins out of the playoffs. Thank you Garry Valk!
My first leaf game was the McSorley Wendel fight of the LA series, and was lucky that the tickets were a few rows behind the leaf bench. For the Gardens, in order to get into your seat you had to walk through the Leaf bench and remember being inches away from Wendel during the national anthems and looking up in admiration. Also lots of interesting battles between Burns and Melrose through the divider.
Sundin's goal against the hurricanes to send the game to OT.
That is, I think, the closest we've been to the cup since 67.
1993 we were 1 game away from the finals that is the closest
sundin's OT goal against carolina was in game 6 with the leafs down in the series 3 games to 2 so they were still 2 wins away from the finals
nonetheless that was a great memory and unfortunately i remember just as vivid mogilny dumping the puck behind his own net without looking leading to the ot winner

We would been in the Finals, and would have beat Montreal, if Fraser made the right call...
bastid didn't have the balls to call a 5min penalty on Gretzky.

That trainer is now Head Equipment Manager Brian Papineau.
Still with the team after all these years.
Mine would be the last time we took the Sens out of the playoffs, what about yours?
EDIT: Or of your favorite player.
well, this was only for a few seconds, until realization kicked in...
The moment Gretzky High Sticked Gilmour and i saw that he drew blood.
...just for one fleeting moment i actually cheered because back then, Wayne would have been done for the game and the Leafs were about to get a 5 min PP.

That was 3-4 euphoric seconds, I'll tell you.
Looks so obvious also.. Fraser can't call that? what an idiot :/

I once heard Fraser explain that moment by saying. "To tell you the truth I had lost sight of the play, I wasn't able to see what had happened or who did what. I had to ask the other official to make a judgement call."
Awesome Kerry, "judgement call". That's great, maybe he was just too scared to make a "judgement call" on his bread and butter.
1. Clark's hit on Bruce Bell, paper says "Clark rings Bruce's Bell" the next day.
2. Tucker's obliteration of Sami Kapenen
3. Luke Richardson sending Granato off to do unconscious snowangels
4. Getting Salming's stick after a four point night
5. Games 1 and 2 against the Blues. Potvin and Joseph were locked in.
