Yea, he might have dropped off a little bit had so many others not also suffered injuries this year. But nobody stood above and beyong his skill level and he'll be gone top 5, probably even top 3.

He belongs in that group more than Forsberg.

Seems right to me, I hope the leafs get one of Grigs, Galchenyuk, Faksa or Gaunce.

EDIT: By the way, why is this here in Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk? This seems like it should be in Prospects.

Murray has had a bad year, but he's good enough to be in that group before the "DROP OFF"

Same with Galchenyuk

This might be true, but you know someone's going to try to prove they're a genius by going into that next tier when they have the 8th pick. Has Scott Glennie left the witness protection program yet?

This draft is pretty bad after about 15th, reason why a UFA 4th liner got a 1st or Bishop bringing back a 2nd.

Because of the increasing number of trade proposals, where top 10 teams trade down to the mid-late first.

If scouts are pointing out where the talent drop off is significant,I think that will influence how far down some teams are willing to drop.

I think the top 15 is pretty good. Drop off after that IMO.

Moderator Hat OnFolks, we get it. ESPN doesn't necessarily have the greatest reputation when it comes to hockey. Please don't keep posting here just to bash ESPN, though; it's unnecessarily spammy. Thank you.

That's 13 guys off the top of my head who could all god top 10, easily.
people rule out Finn, but i could definitely see him slipping in at 9 or 10

I do think after about 15 it drops off a decent amount I think some of the 2nd rounders last season may end up better players then the late first rounders this year.

I don't think 2008 was so cut and dried. There was a top 2-Stamkos and Doughty, with a next 3 or 4 (piet, Bogo, Schenn, Filatov) and then 6-7 guys who could be 7-12 or 13.

Saying it's top 10 and then weak, isn't really as accurate as, "after the top 10, it could be 1 of 20 guys who go next. Doesn't mean higher upside, just quicker development so you know what you have. Top 10 are probable NHLer. Everyone else is hopeful.

This is clear thinking and more than likely how they are presented to most GM's.

This is more how I see it as well. I've been confused lately with the people criticizing Murray so much. He has carried that bad Everett team his whole junior career. He can do everything, and carried his team in the playoffs.

Screw that. Watch Edmonton pull another few diamonds out of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds this year.
