I was at the game last night. I gotta say, Scrivens has potential. He's calm, not afraid to handle the puck, and can make the big save when he needs too.
My concern is Allaire getting his hands on him and messing with his style. Anyone else feel this way?

Yea Scrivens has publically defended Allaire in the past.
From a preseason CBS sports blurb....Saying he has been working with him.
"Last season, Scrivens latched onto the Francois Allaire teaching style like a dog with a bone. He dominated in the ECHL and then logged heavy minutes in the second half with the AHL Marlies when Jussi Rynnas busted a digit. .." from 2010/11 http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fan...8/ben-scrivens
Some good things about his game has a large part to do with Allaire.
I agreed, get rid of him before he screws him up, like he did Reimer.

What a stupid thread. Allaire has been coaching all our goalies since they came into the system. Isn't it possible Scrivens has improved from being an ECHL goaltender because of Allaire?
Owuya is the only goalie we have who hasn't had significant exposure to Allaire. And guess what? "Despite" seeing allaire for all of this year he's having an excellent rookie season!
you realize Allaire was the reason Reimer had success last year. Gustavsson just sucks period. Nothing could save him. Reimer's fall is most likely due to sophmore slump (yes even Jesus Carey Price went through it) and concussion issues. points to Liles.
There is nothing wrong with the way Allaire coaches. He's had great success with Reimer who's play has been derailed by head injuries. Don't act like you weren't pimping Allaire this time last season.
I actually prefer Scrivens to Reimer right now. Is there any reason why Reimer is guaranteed the backup job next season? Is there anything stopping Carlyle from making Scrivens the backup and Reimer goes to the Marlies? Hopefully there's no sense of entitlement just because Reimer has 2 years left on his deal.
we should try a scrivens reimer tandem and see how it goes, if the goaltending is still shakey then we should trade one and acquire a vet.
By then it will probably be too late. I think that tandem is the plan though. It woule be nice to get a #1 guy in here but I doubt Burke is interested in giving up any futures to do it which makes Scrivens Reimer likely at this point.
Remember how bad he looked midseason after that great shutout he had?
Meh, I would rather examine his whole body of work as a Leaf and as a Marlie. Quite impressive so far. And aren't you referring to a Boston game? Maybe he looked bad for a reason in that one...
Here we go again. Appointing Scrivens as the goalie of the future after one good game. Yesterday Brad Ross was the next Darcy Tucker.
Can we just let the kids play without huge expectations? All this does is set everyone up for disappointment if they don't meet them in one full season. Look at Reimer. He was the answer to our goaltending problems last season! Now he's some scrub that Allaire has ruined and we have to find a replacement RIGHT NOW.
I like Scrivens, but let's not get carried away here. He's had a good season with the Marlies. He played well last night. That's all it is right now.
