Chris Madden. Former OHL goalie and pick of the Canes in '98, I am pretty sure he's a FA but not 100%. He's on fire for Long Beach and a major reason why Michaud has only played 4 games. He has an impressive .969 save %

Also note this game is from last week, as Long Beach is in New Jersey tnight playing the Bullies.

And for fans of "Making the Cut", the once-hyped Dan Tessier is the leading scorer for Fresno. Our old friend Matt O'Dette is there too. I had some kind of 70's blue and gold flashback when I saw Lanny Gare and Jim Lorentz on the Falcons lineup.

I have to hope that was just a really bad game for Urquhart. Of course, I'm not his biggest fan to begin with, but in that game all he showed was some big lazy circles, an aptitude for avoiding physical contact, and a great waterskiing technique. It put me in mind of Don Cherry's old harangues about the very-youngest-Leaf-version of Vince Damphousse being able to go into the corner with eggs in his pocket and come out with all of them unbroken. Except that Urquhart did nothing on offense either.

I've seen him look a lot better than that in the Q, so I'll just write this game against Fresno off as an anomaly. There's no way he's that bad. Larrivee got hurt, but he looks like he fits nicely in the ECHL as a career niche.

I keep trying to decide if the play-by-play guy was drunk, or if he really could be a play-by-play person and still have such an incomplete and inconsistent grasp of pronouncing players' names. Wow.
