Ebert down to #96, don't put much stock into CSS but I'm shocked he's fallen even that far. He's been horrible but I still expected him to go 2nd round.
Why do you see him being drafted? Every time I've seen Halifax, I've never noticed him. I even watched him closely Saturday and I didn't see anything worth of mention about his game.
I don't really care about Ciampini I just thought he'd get ranked. He isn't worst or better than some of those guys ranked in the late 100's on this list.
It isn't out of the realm of possibilities to see him getting drafted. And out of the unranked QMJHL players, he's pretty much the best one, no?
- One thing that jumped out at me right away was how low Matthew Murray was on the goaltender list. Sure, he had a really up and down year in the Soo, but who didn't? And he was put in a pretty hard situation as the team's starter (playing well) before the disastrous Jack Campbell trade. This is a guy who NHL GM's wanted to see at the Top Prospect's Game, and who stole the show there. He's also got a chance to start for Canada at the Under 18's. If he's the 19th drafted North American goaltender in 2012, I'll eat my hat.
- I like the aggressive ranking of some under the radar guys like Justin Kea, Josh Anderson, and Joel Wigle. They're all terrific prospects that not a lot of people know about because they aren't getting a ton of ice time or putting up huge stats. But if you watch them play, they always impact the game in a positive way.
- Really like seeing Guelph's Zack Mitchell getting some attention on the list as a draft re-entry. He'll be near the top of my list of re-entries when I put it together closer to the draft.
- Conversely, I'm surprised Seth Griffith didn't get any love in that respect. He certainly deserves it.
- Shocked to see Adam Pelech so lowly ranked. He's a terrific stay at home defenseman with offensive upside. I hope he has a terrific Under 18's which would really boost his draft stock after a tough year in Erie.
- In terms of the "no shows" on the list. The highest guys from my own draft ranking (which won't be finalized until May) are Nathan Pancel, Ryan Rupert, and Warren Steele.
- In terms of the "wow he's that high" department. Brock McGinn is insanely highly ranked for me. I like him as a little sparkplug/energy guy, but he's near the back end of my top 50, not near my top 20.
I really hope NHL Network do a better job at covering the 2nd day than they did last year.
I doubt it. It's Craig Button's day of never shutting up.
Maatta really came out of nowhere.
Holy crap, Samuelsson is hella low and Ebert is in the late 90s which I think is somewhere between 4th and 5th round. Surprising to see Gusev at 20th.
I also don't understand the goaltending list, why is Whitney at 2nd and Murray for Soo all the way down 18th? And who the hell is Stolarz? Never seen him play, but being 6'5 sure helps your stock.

funny how Slater Koekkoek has fallen...they have him at #23 for NA skaters...add a goalie or 2 in the 1st round, plus the frist 5 or 6 good Euro skaters, and Koekkoek could easily fall to the 2nd round where the Jackets or Habs or Oilers will certanly grab him...what a steal in my mind!!

He had the obvious physical tools and I firmly believe that if he can get his other parts meshing with his physical tools he would be a steal for a GM will to gamble a bit.
The other steal later is Marcantuoni, while he has zero issues other than snake bit by injuries his skills and leadership is off the charts.
Jarrod Maidens of the Attack is another talent that should be way higher but his major concussion this year has really dropped him.
Not sure if having a major concussion like he has bodes well for him and it may be enough for him to drop out of the draft entirely.
Only if there are no goaltenders or Euros picked. Get 5 goalies and 10 Euros in the first 3 rounds and a say 97 NA Skater is suddenly 112th, which is bottom of the 4th round.
Galchenyuk is not going past the Leafs if he's there when they draft him. It's almost perfect if Murray is BPA @ 2.
Yakupov
Murray
Grigo
Forsberg/Reilly (Isles have Strome as #2C and need a long term plan for a winger for Tavares OR a good #2-#3D like Reilly).
Galchenyuk/Whoever the Isles don't pick to TOR.
I'm bit suprised that Teravainen not ranked #1 as european skater and Vermin not in top 30 on their list. Anyways, euro top-8 might all go 1st round.
Can't multi quote. Sorry mods.
Really? You're surprised Teravainen isn't ranked higher than a guy who is expected to go top 8? Forsberg has been considered the top overseas player all year wrong. Im more surprised that people fail to wrap their minds around that fact.
Really hope some GMs above us and Winnipeg bite on some of these rankings
Boy I hope so
Yak
Murray
Grig
Rielly
Forsberg
Galchenyuk to the ducks ftw.
It must be partially the schadenfreunde in me (or my desire for the Wild to pick Gally) but I would be endlessly amused if exactly that happened...but the Ducks pick Trouba or Dumba.
Also another good thing for all the top 10 drafting teams is that NJ will most likely forfeit their pick this year (I can't seem them going higher in the standings in the next 2 years with the uncertainty of Parise's contract, and Brodeur's play).
Which means that the every early 2nd round pick is one pick ahead.
Dumba will be this years Fowler, great spot to draft up to
I think he's gonna be the anti fowler dude.
Cam was ranked 5th among NA skaters and fell to 12
Dumba is ranked 11th (you can safely say 12 as if CSS combined the lists, Forsberg would be top 8) and will likely go top 5. Can't see Edmonton, NYI, Anaheim, Minny, Carolina, TB, and Winnipeg passing on him. Obviously we said the same thing about Couturier, Fowler, Gormley, Etem, and Murphy but it happened.
Personally i just see Dumba trending up on draft day. Plays like a Dion Phaneuf with loads of hockey iq, and team's will love his on ice attitude. He hates losing, he gives 100% every night, and he's a natural leader. I just don't see a situation where he falls farther than 8.

In my eyes, FF is just missing that little something( might be because i've watched him too many times past two years so i'm paying attention to their smaller flaws etc ), skillwise Teravainen is a lot better player than FF.
In other words: FF's playing style is bit more flashier and draws more attention.
