This. The time to fight is right after they take the 5-2 lead. Hell, maybe even after they scored #4. Ignite a fire to help for the rest of the game, don't wait til it's decided
How can anyone not be happy with the end of that game? It's not like we pulled a New York Tractor Hicks tactic and literally jumped players. Vitale leveled a Flyer with a CLEAN hit, and the Flyers got uppity, so the Penguins (Asham and Engelland) took 'em to task.
I sit Sid and Geno for the last game of the season, regardless of how the standings look. Absolutely no point in risking injury in a game that quite honestly doesn't mean ****.
WTF is Eddie O talking about that he can understand why Lavs would be upset about Bylsma putting Adams, Asham, and Vitale on the ice? They're put on the ice a good amount Eddie. It was a clean hit and Schenn tried to take a run at Vitale.
He's such a sour grapes bc he isn't part of our organization anymore.
I keep saying here, the guy is sour grapes all the time, someone should from Pans organization make a call and say: WTF man, what's your problem?

No. Not that. Maybe if this was the first or second time we met them in the regular season, but we're playing them again in less than a week, then we're going into a first round playoff series against them. They took way to long to start acting like they cared today, but better late than never. At least now they've sent the message they aren't just going to roll over and take it up the ass.
That wasn't a fight to settle that game. It was a fight to send a message for the upcoming games. Anyone that doesn't understand that needs to learn a few things.
Yea the ending is just what we needed. Don't know what had Laviolette so heated. He put Schenn on the ice. He didn't expect anything? lol.
D-Core still has a lot of work to do. Letang has to get back into the mix and playing regularly.
Like i said, just be happy this game didn't happen April. 11th'ish.
Letang was the least of my worries on the defense today. He'll be fine. Orpik, I think, will be fine. Nisky . . . eh, should be o'k. Engo will be o'k. Martin and Michalek . . . one moment, they show you the glimpse of why they're worth every penny of their deals. The next moment (Martin on the Flyers second goal running up to the point as Malkin is going their, Michalek on the Flyers PP goal), it's a total facepalm.
But, beyond the personnel, we ALL know what the big problem is, what the elephant in the room is. The defensive zone system is just such a bleeping mess. Instead of keeping it a simple 3 on 3 down low and keeping stuff to the perimeter, the Pens run this system that can be really nice sometimes but really is susceptible to skilled teams that game plan for and attack the soft spots.
Minus to Bylsma for stubbornly sticking with the 5 forward powerplay unit when it sucks. The powerplay looked better with Letang on it. If Letang had been on it the whole game maybe the Pens get a PPG and win this one.
Minus to the Pens for making Bobrovsky look like Bernie Parent. Yeah we got a lot of shots but most of them were unscreened garbage shots, and the good looks we had were right into the logo.
The powerplay is an absolute mess right now, and it goes beyond whether there are four or five forwards on it.
Good point. We didn't jump anyone. We stepped up on the player carrying the puck and they came after us. We simply responded.
We responded, which was good, but it would have been smart to light a fire under our own boys by putting our foot down once they exploded for goals. THAT'S my point. If anyone is happy that we did nothing to try and turn the tide, then I have no words for that.
Anyone have YT of Vitale's hit and the ensuing chaos? I'd like a 2nd look.
Weird that they only have 2m unsportsman on Schenn.
If a cross check after the whistle is showing guts and bravado yet a clean shoulder check is deplored, I think that speaks volumes of those commentating.

Here's to hoping you're right about that, but I just don't know for a fact that's going to happen. Philly will still try to do exactly what they did today, and if we react the way we did the first 55 mins of the game, we're in trouble.

Id add Fleury and Letang to that list as well. No sense in playing Letang when he has had a rough season and give Fleury a rest.
It was nice to finally see a heartbeat today. Complete HS game by the Pens and their stars. Malkin, Sid, MAF and Letang with brutal, stupid games.
I like Lavs, even though he's a softie coach, but what a friggin woman. A clean hit and a fight at the end... and he goes crazy like that? Do the tuck and dance in front of the mirror dude.
- Bylsma is not half the coach he is given credit for.
C'mon, give Bylsma a break. What do you want him to do, dictate matchups on home ice, correct the PP, fix the transition and in zone defense, not get taken to coaching school until there's a minute left in the game?
I ******* hate the Flyers, I ******* hate Lavs, but there's no way you can't say he doesn't put his players into the best possible position to make plays. Sometimes, players make mistakes, sometimes it doesn't work out, but I just sit there and watch Bylsma and see Tomlin minus so many cliches . . . 'we do what we do', 'the standard is the standard', all that BS.
