You play to the end of the game.

Probably because the Flyers are sick of Crosby and Malkin being proactive dirty players that spend the entire game painting themselves the victim while they cheapshot all over the place. Then they do that in a blowout game. The refs don't care. Flyers lost Grossman on an intentional knee to knee. Nothing.

Pens deserve what they get.

Watch the games closer.

Laviolette on the Pens using their forth line at the end: "It was a gutless move by their coach."

You can "take" Philly. You just won't be able to watch them in a few weeks.

I also wouldn't be shocked to see the coaches get a game apiece as well.... especially with the video of lavi and the stick...

Here's a clue. Do not cross check Crosby, who has been concussed most of this year and last, with four minutes left in a game that is basically over, and you will not be targeted. Pens did just what they should have. Flyers and their fans are honestly reacting just how I would have predicted. The flyers earned that response. Thank God the Pens stepped up and made it. It did not effect the outcome, but sent a strong message for next game and the series.

a clean hit is a clean hit is a clean hit... if you don't like it, avoid it.

Lol every single team retaliates after a clean hit, its not just the flyers. Jesus everybody acted like this was something new, it happens in almost every other game.

It was a hard fought game and the hit was clean but after all the chirping and battles throughout the game, if you cant understand why flyers went after Vitale then youve never played hockey before.

#1 Because the Flyers didn't have at that moment benefit of watching the replay.

#2 Because Briere had his head down and went down with the hit.

#3 Because all the Flyers saw was their guy down and taken down by a 4th line Pen.

#4 And likely the most important-because the Pens were frustrated and tempers on both sides were on edge and that last hit was like touching a match to gasoline and made everything explode.

It happens. Players are playing in the moment and when they respond they are often responding to what they think is dirty rather than what really happened.

I am pretty sure, if things had been reversed a similar scenario would have played out.

you are making it sound like Crosby did nothing all game. He went around slashing and acting like the baby he is all game. The cross check he received was barely a cross check and he went down like a sack of potatoes.

Schenn did not get away with it. It was 2 min penalty. Or are you ****ing blind?

Crosby on the other hand got away with 2 slashings. At least!

I'm sure it was OK in your book when Schenn tried to headshot an unsuspecting Asham after Briere took a clean hit.

Three observations: I'm glad the Pens showed a little emotion at the end of a game like that in which they played so poorly.

2) people act as if it's a revelation that the Pens are dirty. They've been a little chippy for the past few years now, deal with it already.

3) love Hartnell--wish he were a Pen.

It was being called, but you guys scored. Who cares? Minor little thing that happens every game. Crosby was about as hurt as a soccer player diving on the pitch and holding the other leg than the one he got clipped on. Move along.

That's fine with me, as long as they suspend Rinaldo for taunting him.

Anyone with eyes and a brain know that Rinaldo motioned for Asham to come at him.
