So you think its okay to put your 4th like on the ice and take one last shot at one of our skill players after you just lost the game? Okay dude.
The hit on Briere was clean.
I can also think of a lot of reasons to send your 4th line out in this situation-one of them being to make sure one of your top line players doesn't get injured (and I don't mean the Flyers would hurt them, but freak things happen) and/or to let your top line guys who probably ate the vast majority of minutes rest.
That said-I thought the Pens fans were pretty bad, loved Hartnell during the whole brouhaha and taunting the crows, and mostly just thought this a case of tempers getting up due to frustration.
About the only thing really dirty that went on IMO was Asham punching the Flyer while he was being held by both the linesman and another Pen.
It was a brawl born of frustration and from a non fan of either team (well generally I like the Flyers when they aren't playing the Bruins and covet Giroux) it was pretty entertaining-especially the coaches up on the glass.
Can't wait to see what happens next week and in the playoffs.
So much for Crosby heroically leading the Pens to the division. At this rate they won't even have home ice lol.
I shudder to think what the team would look like without him right now. He's been one of the few bright spots. Everyone else's game is going into the tank at absolutely the worst possible time.
It's to be expected though I guess. Pens were white hot for a while. Now they are having their slump. Everyone has them. Hopefully they get it out of the way before the playoffs. If it carries over, the Flyers are more than talented enough to take them out in the first round.
