Having a team back actually does the opposite for me since we are eliminated. I'm looking forward to watching good, stress-free hockey and hopefully some nasty rivalries.
I got lots to do around the house
Without my team in the show
It gives me a head start

I hear ya. I'm actually glad they are out of the hunt. I have so much to do with putting my condo up for sale and preparing to haul my things out of Edmonton and to find a temporary place to live until I can get another house. I won't have any distractions from hockey to use as an excuse now.
With that being said, go Nucks and Panthers. All the rest can suck it.
Ranger, Penguins, Predators and Blues. Why? I bet big money in Las Vegas on each of them to win it all. Even if the Rangersd win, at 4-1 odds, it's pays for my total bet. If the Pens (the odds before Crosby was back were 8-1!) Preds or Blues win, I win bigtime.
Even in my two playoff pools, I'm going all in on those four teams. I think this might be Nashville's year, Pittsburgh has got Crosby and Letang back, and the Blues have Hitchcock.
I don't get why people cheer for Canadian based teams just because they play out of a Canadian city.
I usually cheer for the underdog, or the team with the most Canadian born players. No Nucks love here!
I like the Pens though, and after today's game vs Philly that is one series I'll be tuned into
I'm not just cheering for the Canucks because they're a Canadian team. I don't understand that logic either. I've been a fan of the Canucks since 1993. They're the team that got me interested in hockey. Jets are a 1B team for me. I'm sure if I weren't a fan of theirs I would hate them because they're winning despite playing like utter crapola all season.
In the East:
-Pittsburgh
-Florida
-whoever can beat the Rangers (through the course of this season, I've gone from being indifferent towards them to disliking them with every ounce of my being)
In the West:
-Vancouver
-St. Louis
-Los Angeles
Also wouldn't mind seeing the B's repeat. I've always had a soft spot for them being a Boston sports team, and their fanbase has been quite amicable towards our fanbase.
At this point I'm calling Pittsburgh to beat the Rangers and Florida to beat Boston to go to the East final, Pittsburgh to go to the Cup finals.
In the West, hope Canucks lose in first round (can't stand 'em), and Nashville and St Louis to get to the West final, love to see Nashville get to the Cup finals
and Pittsburgh looks good to win it all (if Fleury is solid - have to be better than today though, or they wont get past Philly if they meet in first round)
none of the above are my favourite teams by any stretch... Jets are #1...ain't no #2for me
I'll be watching the playoffsand getting to know all the teams even better... it'll get me better equipped for next season. No fav'sanymore... used to be a Flyers and Sharks fan but don't care if they win or lose now.
Looking forward to seeing some good games and who will win the cup??? Only 2and ahalf months until we know. (I wonder if another team will move again this summer??)
As a Panthers fan, I would like to invite Jets Nation to please get behind our boys. We all hate Washington, and also, please get a note to your team to play some golf, go to the beach on Tuesday. We need that game. Thanks!
I'm going to ignore the part about Tuesday's game but take you up on the rest of it. Would like to see Florida sweep the opening round, and shut up all the other Eastern Conference fans who are acting like 6th place is going to secure a bye to the 2nd round.
As for the Western Conference, not sure yet but I might go for Nashville. Solidly run program and a passionate fanbase, was rather impressed by them when the Jets visited last month.
Preds and Panthers. Panthers mostly so people will shut the **** up about their team, their fans and our division. And their fans are nice. Preds because I like their players.
In my opinion, only those that hate tend to post in those threads. There are many great fans in every fanbase - I don't assume that a few posters represent a complete fanbase. That's just me though.
True; negative encounters and perceptions are naturally just easier to hold onto than positives, though. I've never had anything against the Predators franchise but frankly I've never had a positive experience with their fans (which has been limited to the internet mind you), so even though I keep telling myself they have some reasonable fans out there, all I still think about is the negative stuff (trashing our city/team, "Loserpeg"...) Hopefully that'll change whenever I make it down there for a Jets game...
-Sens (most of my family live in Ottawa)
-Flyers (I found their against the Jets amusing/frustrating)
-Panthers (underdog)
-Whichever team is playing against the Caps if they keep 8th. Rangers I guess?
-Sabres if they take 8th. Just for making the Caps miss.
Edit: I'm not as familiar with teams in the western conference.
Now that Winnipeg is out (who are we kidding - they were out 10 days ago), Ottawa and anyone playing Florida/Boston/Washington/Philladelphia.
But I don't really think of it as "cheering"; more of a hope that a Canadian team does well to maintain interest and a general desire to see some well played and highly competitive games/series.
